I was yelling at my TV from pick 4 on that I wanted them to trade for Fowler, that's probably as mad as I have ever been with something the Rangers did

I didn't want him there either, but I sort of defended the team at the time. I get that it was a bad pick then and even worse looking back, but don't forget at the time had just gone through the Redden (and others that shall not be names) debacle, had several young offensive stars (Zucc Callahan etc) and we had no idea the gem we had gotten with acquiring McD. In that scenario when we were looking at constantly looking up at the Pens, the Caps, and the Flyers, drafting a big defense first guy made some sense.

Yeah, I think we all hated the pick at the time, but there was some logic that went in to that pick

Yea he is a solid pick. I think people are bashing it cause usually when you trade up its for something with a little more higher upside.

They were the 2 best on the board at that pick, I wouldnt have been mad about Fowler.

Kuznetsov was Top 10 on a lot of boards but teams were scared that hewould stay in the KHL. As it happened, it took 4 years to get him over here.

Jack Johnson certainly wouldn't have been my choice. But I knew he's worked with Jacques Martin and that they like his leadership qualities. All I told you was that it was a possibility.
