Even at barely above the minimum... he is a negative value player. You guys aren't in full tank mode anymore... so I don't get even having him as your 8th or 9th Dman. An average AHL call up is better. But, like you said... 1 year... so (frank) JR and his buyout with the Pens

Yeah, I mean its not something I would have done, but for 1 year its not a big deal.

I can just see Quinn paring him with Trouba and playing him 20 plus minutes a game.

Just hope he is sheltered as a 3rd pair defenseman

He's gonna play 12 minutes per night and every one of those minutes will be pain.

I don't know, Quinn wont have much patience for a turnover machine. Look what happened to Skjei, and he was better that Jack

Just hope that he never has to play if you guys want a playoff run this year. He freaking sunk Malkin's play 2 seasons ago

I think they might make the playoffs, but I doubt they do a run. The teams ahead of us are too well rounded. We look really good with our 1st 2 lines, but 3-4 are huge question marks and the D is still so young. Although it got a little older with Jack

In my opinion, there were much better bottom filler options available than who New York signed

You guys have top end talent... always possible to get hot, add someone at the deadline and push.

These don't even seem like bottom filler guys. The only player I've ever heard of is Jack Johnson...

Yeah but without any help on the 3-4 lines it makes it easy to shutdown the Rangers. Carolina did it and it wasn't pretty. Imo they really need to figure out the bottom 2 lines. Not even worried about the top 2, they give me a bonah every time they are on the ice,

It's contracts like this and the Gudas one, that make me wonder why it's such a big deal we signed Johnson to a minimum contract. Teams are going nuts today

I think it was the void of losing Staals leadership. They wanted a vet, but it looks like they are all signing for multiple years which I'm sure the Rangers want no part of with Hajek and Miller really close
