I just thought they would try to find a better option for the left side. Right now Smith/Johnson/Hajek could be 2/3rds of that side if miller isn’t ready - TPC
Yeah, left side will be pretty weak other than Lindgren
I look at next season as another growing season. They have the right side locked up, mostly. They need to figure out the bottom 6 and the left side on D and then we can rock and roll |

And then If they just bring back Strome it most likely means they aren’t upgrading at center.
I know it’s only one day of the offseason so I can’t overreact yet but was hoping to see some changes. Part of me is thinking they may just run it back with LAF |

I hear ya, but to me when you sign Kreider and Panarin to those deals it kind of points to you are going to go for it more. Would hate to waste another prime year of both of them and Zib on a cheap deal just to grow. Maybe it’s just me. I think this team needs to be a playoff team next season |

Yeah, I honestly didn't see them making any big changes, still could be wrong though. I think because they are still such a young team they want to see what they have and if anything, make some moves next year |

Well, like it was pointed out yesterday, if chinese lung aids happened earlier, who knows what would have went down with Kreider. I think they should compete next year, but I don't see a cup run. Just to many question marks right now all around.
The top 6 is going to be incredible though |

if the Rangers signed or acquired someone better on LHD than Jack Johnson, to me that would signaled they arent as high on the prospects as we hoped
a stop gap as bad as Jack Johnson says to me lets just get a warm body in here we can get rid of easily if we have to |

Yeah. Good point. Maybe they think Miller is real close. He is done at Wisconsin right? |

If he was allowed to people were reporting Miller would have played in the bubble |

They definitely love Miller, but I think he'll play in the AHL first, if possible.
Also, Tarmo is a LD and not playing in Europe right now. He could be hurt or it could be a sign that he'll get a shot. He's in the 2nd year of his ELC so the clock is ticking a bit there. I'd like to see him get a shot over Hajek and the other guys. |

I think what were gonna see is... Miller/Trouba, Lindgren/Fox, Hajek-Smith-Johnson/ADA |

I wonder if the price tag for Andy Greene was too rich if they were looking for a LD and some leadership. |

If this is to start the season I'm putting this at 0%. No way they are throwing a kid, who never played a pro game, in as the #1 up against other teams top lines |

I just hope Miller has a good enough camp to make the team. Still might spend some time with the Pack for a tune up. Kind of like what happened with McDonagh |

At the end of the day, were not competing for the cup next year. This upcoming year is a year for everyone to get used to each other. Figuring out what works and what doesnt.
Miller is essentially ready. We got Robertson and Reunanen who are probably less than a year away. Truth be told, we dont really need anyone for defense other than temporary stop gaps until 21-22 season.
2C and 3C are the only place of concern that I have. |
