He was traded for Joey Keane....... had nothing to do with the Skjei deal

Gauthier has the tools to be a scorer, he didn't play a ton of minutes, I see him as a very nice 3rd line scorer
- KreiderBomb

they need to find out what they have in Gauthier, and more than any other player, Fast was in his way

The first Islanders thing the Rangers should being doing is trying to sign Matt Martin.

not that I wouldn't like it, but they need to figure out this TDA and Strome thing before they start throwing more money around for 4th liners

I wonder if theyve already reached out to them like, "look rather than offer sheet we will trade you what would be the compensation and throw in a sweetener for Cirelli".

Why is no one offer sheeting Sergachev, Cirrelli, or Barzel? Is offering $6.5-7m/ year for 5 years a crazy idea for Sergachev? He could be on the left of Trouba and then we can have Miller play with ADAid he stays!

I think we can go in to ten year with

Kreider, Zib, Buchnevich
Panarin, Chytil, Kaako
Lafreniere, Howden, Gautheir, Kravtsov
PDG, Rooney, Lemieux, Smith,

Trouba, Sergachev
Fox, Lindgren
ADA, Miller, Johnson, Hajek

Rangers are in big trouble if that is their center depth next season

Would rather get Cirelli via Offer Sheet or trade than Sergachev...

Agreed, the bigger need is the center, but there’s a little issue called collusion, that prevents teams from making offers, if not that than the ridiculous compensation for signing someone off it. Don’t even know why the offer sheet still exists in the CBA.

A lot of the rangers future success relies on Chytil. If he takes that next step towards becoming a bonafide 2C (65-75 points with Panarin) then the rangers will be in good shape. If he doesn’t reach his ceiling, we will struggle.

He’s only 21 which is crazy...and one of the 6 most tenured current rangers.

Fast thing kinda sucks but the reasons mentioned here make sense. Lots of turnover with the team leadership.
- JRR1285

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if Fast just said F the rangers. Management has been absolutely cutthroat with getting rid of guys like Callahan, McDonagh, Zucc, Lundqvist, etc.

All for the best of the team but at a certain point, players start losing trust that they also won’t get shipped the first chance management sees fit

Problem is you cant promise loyalty to anyone when the team is in an inbetween phase of rebuilding and being a competitor.

Im definitely disappointed to lose Fast, and I feel like hes the kind of locker room player you need to have for the playoffs. However, you cant deny the fact that as far as talent goes, hes below everyone on the RW.

The organization is still figuring out their identity, as well as trying to put together a winning team with tons of depth.

Personally, if I knew Kreider would play RW, Id definitely trade Buch and Gauthier.

For a guy that wants to "win" he sure does make terrible decisions.
