If things continued normally last year, I think they would have been a playoff team anyway. I don't get how a lot of people think they have gotten worse this offseason. We got LAF, I expect Kakko and Chytil to be better. The D could be a problem, not going to lie. But maybe Miller comes in and makes the team. I think keeping Smith is actually a good move, with the cap the way it is he can switch from forward to defense as needed. - TheMessiah94
Yea you are probably right. I am just overreacting. I just would hate to waste another year of Panarin's and Kreiders prime when they are signed to those deals. And with Zib due such a big raise in 2 years. Would love to take advantage a bit with him on a cheap deal. |

I'm still not convinced both Strome and ADA are still here when all the dust settles either |

Yeah, so used to getting the big name ufa. We forget we got the best possible player in the draft. Thats better than any ufa or trade the Rangers might do |

Which one you think goes if one has to?
I think Las Vegas could be big here. If they miss out on Pieterangelo they may come back for ADA. |

if nobody signs one of the Tampa guys to an offer sheet, I think the players have a collusion case - jimbro83
I want to see which GM has the balls to go the offer sheet route. |

Yeah, that would not be good. I understand the whole situation and it stinks he is gone, I would just love to have someone with his skill set in the bottom 6.
I do wonder if it was Fast wanting to leave, especially if he looked at the wingers and saw the writing on the wall. Might have been relegated to a strictly 4th line role which he didn't want |

Tampa Bay has still done absolutely nothing to help their cap issues and Arizona is still desperate to get rid of about 20 mil in contracts - jimbro83
NHL can't be happy with the Coyotes situation. Finally get an owner and he's shedding salary like crazy. They're going to be bad. And they have a pretty bad prospect pipeline too. |

I would rather have Fast playing RW in the bottom six and dealt one of the prospects for an upgrade at 2c or LD (Kravs or Gaut). Maybe he didn't want that, so it makes it a moot point, but Fast is the perfect player you play with a young winger like Laf to get the season going. Then once Laf is ready to graduate to the top 6, having Kreider and Fast on the same line would have been a lethal defensive line.
Doesn't matter though, he's gone. Wish him well, but (frank) him |

until Kravstov got injured, he was tearing up the KHL, I'm looking forward to him coming aboard

I feel like there's always something up with him. Would go a long way to see him in the lineup on night one of the new season. Excited for his potential, no doubt, but really need to see him succeed. And I'm not expecting a monster season from him. Just want him to be a regular in the lineup and playing hard/competitive hockey. |

he's still so young and he was a really good soldier, he came over and joined the summer training camp and went to the bubble and probably would have played eventually if they had gone on a run |
