Only if someone claims him at his current salary...

The NTC is bad especially with an expansion draft coming up, but cap hit isn't bad

Some one will take a chance on him I think. His contract isn't that bad
- mdw7413

I wouldn't go anywhere near that contract

For a team that has money and not many players with NTC it could be attractive

Only teams like OTT/DET can afford to do that.

Meh, they can have him. Not the player he used to be anymore.

The cap hit still counts against Tampa if nobody claims him, right?

If no one claims him, I think he was just put on regular waivers, so they can bury his contract. When you buyout someone, it's a different waiver list.

I believe so, them putting him on waivers is desperation to give him away.

Brian Lawton on NHL Network is so dumb, trying to make the case Taylor Hall should sign in the 4 million dollar range and go back to Edmonton

Theres a limit on how much you can bury because of the Wade Redden exploit years ago where his 6m contract was getting buried. So now its capped at like 1.5m.

If OEL is off the market, does DeAngelo bring back a big enough return for the Rangers to trade him to Vancouver?

Gotta be under $1m each.

I looked at their roster. They can save 1.6-1.8 on a couple guys and the sign 2 guys or have 2 elc's etc. to replace the 1 contract. They'll need to move 1 of the bigger contracts buts it's doable if they find trade partners.

Two years, $900k per year on Maroon, who will be exposed to Seattle. One year, $800k for Schenn
