Ive seen the poopshow thats played in front of Hogberg. His save percentage is not realistic. Put him on a penguins team with Crosby Malkin and few other elite players and im sure his stats are not much worse than than Murrays. - Jp11
Hopefully they give him a chance to steal the crease |

TSN Brent Wallace just said on TSN1200 that he's heard OTT offered Duclair a salary in the high 4's. But Duclair wanted something around the 5x5 range |

What's the deal with arbitration? Couldn't have a reasonable deal work out that way? Worst case, the deal is massive and you walk away? Team has most of the power no?
I agree 5x5 is a hard pass but aren't there avenues to take with an RFA rather than just walking?
Im just curious. Especially considering with the money tossed for Murray and Gudbransson. Seems odd to just not quality him and start the process. |

pretty sure arbitration awards a 1 year deal only, and then after that the player becomes a UFA.....you can obviously negotiate prior to that, but player and team seemed miles apart.
arbitration is ugly, especially if the player represents himself as he would be in teh room while the sens told the arbitrator all the reasons why they feel he's not worth what he's asking for.
the only 2 real outcomes i can see from arbitration in this case is:
1. the arbitrator awards him too much and the team walks away
2. they don't award him enough that the team can walk away, but the relationship is completely broken. he becomes a cancer in teh room, and walks away in the end anyways

I am just not sure your 2nd outcome is as drastic as that? I'd need to see some comparables to make that leap. I highly doubt every arbitration the "team wins" ends up with the player doing a 180 and becoming a terrible person in the room and on the ice.
Like good luck to him trying to get the deal that is reported but I feel there is a missing link in this story. |

with MR. Cheap ass as owner, no way Dorion would let an asset like Duclair walk away for nothing, pretty certain he was blind sided by this at the last minute by Duclair. |

Yep . It is a gamble. Not too far of a stretch though. The goalie is 90%of the time a gamble imo. Hot,years mediocre years, cold years. To win a cup you have to have a goalie on a hot streak ( could be anyone on any given year). Its a more fluctuating position than any other it seems nowadays.. |

hard to say.....if i was a player and had to sit in a room and listen to my GM and coach tell a stranger about all my shortcomings....inconsistency, defensive ineptitude, lazy play at times......i'd be pretty (frank)ing jaded walking out of that room, and not terribly motivated to play for them. given his history in the league, duclair dosn't strike me as the "consumate professional" who would let that stuff roll off his back |

Duclair has now played for 5 NHL teams in 6 years. Coaches think he is lazy or not coachable so they get rid of him fast. Ottawa was a great landing spot for him and he blew it by not resigning and get some much needed stability on his resume. The fact he is representing himself is ludicrous as he is out of his element and thinks he can do better than a professional. He may but with a stagnant cap ceiling this is the wrong time to start a new career. |

I've been reading your crap all week and getting pretty sick of it. Please tell us something that you've accomplished. If you hate everything so much, I can't believe the time you waste on this. If possible, go find something you like, enjoy that, and quit wasting your time and ours. |

Does this automatically mean that Nilsson is hurt?
Imagine if he returns Hogberg will play down the 401 |

ya I'll pass on the 5 x 5 lol. Sorry Anthony but I wouldn't go beyond 2 year deal on him. without goals he is nothing more than a bottom 6 player |

Assuming the rumors I've seen tossed around about you guys wanting toughness for your W group, what would Edmonton need to add to complete a Kassian for Connor Brown swap? I'm just trying to get a gauge for how fans of the Sens value him. |

Pass, brown is younger and better and does play a hard nosed style.
I’ll take brown over kassian all day every day. |

We have Tachuck, Brown, Paul, Formenton and they're all better than Kasian. |

X2.
Does Kassain still play with Mcdavid ever (to boost his nmbers)? Also, I think Brown could put up much better numbers if he had the chance to play with Drais or Mcdavid |

OTT prospect and recent 2nd round pick Jarventie has recorded a point in each of his 4 Liiga games to start the season. (Pronman)
Be curious to watch his progression since Dorion seemed to reach on him with Ottawa's 2nd. |

28 YO signed for 3 more year at 1.5m, never score more than 19 PTS, he is a 4th liner. 6'4" 204LBS |

It basically upgrades Scott sabourin with watson as 4th liner in what sabourin would be but a tad better |

Quite interesting what dorion is doing. Building from the back to front.
1st signing a goalie which was matt murrary
2nd traded for 2 physicall defenceman Josh brown, Erik Gudbranson. Sens trying to build a wall for Murray and protection for our young squad.
3rd start from 4th line signing watson which replaces scott sabourin which brings a bit more talent but also has physical presence in more protection for younger players.
So let's see what else dorion is upto I really think we need another top 6 forward a more impactful player. |
