I like your optimism. I would rather have signed Simon instead of Rodrigues though. Not even close.

Simon wants more than 700k by the sounds of it

If he wanted 3 mil like some rumors said.... that would have been near all of our cap space before these signings.

Sure, if we ship out Matheson... or Letang... or something to get 4mil+ cap space.

I still find weird we couldn’t keep Simon. He’s better than at least 3-4 forwards from our roster.
- Barnaby36

I believe his agent was asking too much. I heard some outside rumors that they were concerned about his injury as well, but not sure how true that is.. Then again they could potentially still sign him because he much like ZAR will be starting the season on IR.

Could we still land Tyler Johnson?

With what cap space haha?

Teams have until noon tomorrow to make a claim, but I don’t see anyone with 5 million x 4 years.

Yes, but I believe we cannot use that cap space UNTIL the season starts.

Let Simon walk. Not sure why he’s so crucial?

Florida had a helluva a day.
Wennberg, Gudas, Hinostroza all for good prices.
Traded for Nutivaara and Hörnqvist.

Safe to say Horny will help out this young team and they’ll be better with all of these signings.

$3M is just too much. He won’t get that lol

As for T.Johnson, I meant signing him once he’s bought out @ around $3M/year.

He’s just on regular waivers right now. Tampa May get another buyout window but only if one of their RFAs goes to arbitration

GMJR has spent the better part of 3 seasons (frank)ing this team into the ground. RW female doges and moans like a one night stand with buyers remorse, but he is not wrong to call out Rutherford for his idiocy.

I like the Kapanen trade, but damn JR pulled the trigger too fast. Leafs are 3 mil over the cap with only 20 contracts.

Judging by the way malkin played against montreal...

I think it’s more like 3 fourth lines.

He outbid himself again. Don't think there was any need to give up the 1st rounder for what was a cap dump for them.

Yea, it seemed like a panic move. I didn’t realize how tight the leafs were against the cap. Even if someone outbid JR for Kapanen, it’s blatantly obvious other teams are selling low on lots of players.

Yeah.. Except for he was on pace for one of his best seasons ever when it got shut down, played the Habs series injured with an injury that required surgery he had a week after the Habs series... but don't let facts get in the way of whatever you have going there.

He was playing hurt and didn’t even have strength to shoot the puck. Required surgery.

I said this back when they signed him. He should have waited because so many clubs would be slammed against the cap. That said, I think Kap is a great fit for our top 6 at a reasonable salary. JR overpaid, but he did so on a cost effective player. A first should have been plenty. Adding a prospect was kind of absurd.

Still have room for a RD. I think Stecher would be a good signing.
Craig Smith for Third line would be ideal. Don’t think it’s feasible however.

They should ship Sceviour out for a 7th. Leave them with like 3.8 mill space. There's quality players to be had for less than that. Theres a crazy amount of quality players not signed right now.... And Jack Fn Johnson is hahaha
