The question is does Gus stay on the right side next season or not.

Better than last year, though I really didn't want to lose Anderson. - MartysBetter88
Better than the end of last year, but I'd take the forwards that started the year over this group. |

I edited it to include Boqvist. You're referring to our boy Coleman. Oh..Hall too lolol. We'd be so much better swapping Mcleod for Coleman. Really hope Foote works out |

That trade was an easy win. Anderson was shaping up to be a fringe NHL'er, as his feet just dont move. Now Andreas will probably be the fastest skater on our roster. He is proven, and will likely play top 6.
As for Murray, another great risk to take. If he stays healthy, he is our 1LD, and could be potential trade bait at the deadline.
Crawford was a solid addition as well. I would have liked to ride out Schneids final years, but Corey is proven, and coming off a very solid season with a mediocre team. I still have no idea why Mtl gave up a 2nd for Allen in this economy......
Fitz hasn't made massive moves, but we have addressed our goal tending depth and LD issue at a minimal cost. Now just land a RW and our squad will be ready to compete for a playoff spot. |

Yeah, I like a lot of players on the roster but we have 2 (I think?) players that have hit 60 points and one of them is Zajac. We've still got a bit to go to revamp the forwards.

Is hamonic even that good? I keep referencing him because he's the best RD left other than Piet. But is he even worth a 3yr deal? I'm realizing how crazy of question that is when I look at our D situation lol. I just don't want him over 4yrs |

I wouldnt mind Hamonic, but i'd prefer to try to get another top 4 LHD. Our right side should be filled in with PK, Severson, and Smith. We currently only have Murray and Butcher on the left side. And i'd prefer Butcher slotted down on the 3rd pairing, so top 4 LHD should be our priority, but yeah prio D over another forward. Carrick should be the 7th. Bahl and Walsh will be in the AHL this season |

He's not that great. I mean, our defense sucks obviously but is Hamonic really going to turn this thing around? Probably not. |

He can play both, but he played the majority of his junior career on the right side even though he's a lefty. So if hes more comfortable on the right, thats where i'd rather keep him |

I would like to see a Dman added.
To push Carrick to a 7th Man or to fill in when Murray gets hurt again. |
|
|
|
I think the most pressing need left for our devils is on defense. Especially the bottom pair if management is convinced Butcher is an every day 2nd pair defensemen.
Murray-Severson
Butcher-PK
Smith-Carrick?
I think that bottom pair is questionable and all teams need at least 7 or 8 serviceable defensemen to get through the season due to injuries and what have you. |

Yes, we need depth on D. Smith, this early, is a hot or miss if he's a full time NHLer now. Carrick should be the 7th,8th Dman.
We need another D.
I could see Hamonic the of player in our cross hairs, and I wouldn't be opposed to bringing back Vaatanen as a 3rd pair guy. |

If we are signing a D for term I want Ben Hutton. |

Wouldn’t mind Vatanen. I think we need more of a shutdown guy though and Hamonic and Hutton fit that mold. Hutton being younger and likely cheaper I think I’d lean that way. |

This deal keeps getting better. The cap hit is 3.4 million per year. Actual cash per year is 2.5 million. |

All that money is being saved for when we need to pay guys in a couple of years. I think we might get another savvy trade or two but not a lot of money being spent here. |

And for only $1 million dollars less than Skinner, lol. What a difference one year made in the FA market. |
