For such a tight knit close group ready to win seems like no one wants to stay ...thought the window was supposed to be open .....looks like everyone is just walking out the door instead - Redmile247
I was always worried that signing Marky long term would hurt Demko's future with the Canucks. It had to be one or the other. I was always worried that Tanev's one healthy season in a shortened contract year was a risky thing to gamble on. Stetcher was going to price himself out of Canuck's check book with Arb so not qualifying was basically the outcome we all accepted long ago. None of these outcomes are bad depending on what happens the rest of the offseason. Being cautious was the plan. So far JB has had discipline with the plan.

It's not all doom and gloom like some say it is.
If they splurge and move LE, that's 19 mil. Virt, Hog, Podk can all fill out that depth (assuming JV is on the team still). Basically need a top 2 D and top 6 winger for roughly 10-12 mill? - NewYorkNuck
I'm not worried about depth, it's the 2 top 6 and 2 top 4 that I think will be difficult to find cheap. |

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team sign four players in free agency to fill holes in the top six forwards or top four defense. Need one of each and two kids to step up. |

Ya really, when you have 10 to 12 years to a career you make hay while the sun shines. Markstrom’s only been a starting NHL goaltender for three years. |

Benning needs some kids to grab spots for sure. - Pacificgem
I think a couple of prospects will make the jump either this year or next, but depth is lacking on the right side, both on wing and D (projecting both of Chattfield & Rafferty sticking seems way too optimistic) |

Calgary is going all in on a few years of prime Markstrom. They have a few years to try and win a cup and then will need to tear it down. Management is delusional thinking they have a chance against COL or Vegas |

As we saw with Demko, one hot goalie can win you a series (or nearly win you one..) |

The only kids I see making the step and possibly making an impact are Hoglander and Rafferty. |

Trades are also an option. We got Miller on a good deal for a 1st. |

5.7m for 6 players isn’t pretty. A young mans game. |

I have no hard feelings against Marky or Tanny, both have earned the right to cash in. I still hope the Flames crash and burn though, which we all know they will |

Cowboys suck but can win their division with the lousiest record ever. That is if the NFL can finish the season. Another game moved to next weekend. Pathetic display of stupidity. |
