This is the most excited i have been for a preseason Habs lineup in forever.
- The_Price_is_right

These 4 new players sure changes the makeup of this team, on paper we should be harder to play against.

We'll see when they get on the ice.

i read up on him and i hate him already. sounds like an instant 4 or 5 goals against.

meltzer called him a "strictly average" defender. lol

- kicksave856

That’s what he is. Average.

He’s a stop gap. It’s just a 1 year deal. When Seattle gets to make their grabs, the Flyers protect Provy, Sanheim, and Myers. Gus can walk.

If they signed anyone of substance, no doubt Myers would be expansion bound.

They know they have something in those 3. They think they have something in York and Zamula. This is basically just a waiting game signing until the prospects mature.

Philly isn’t a player in the FA market this year. Gonna sign their RFAs, and maybe make a splash in a year. Until then, they’ll be quiet.

Not a fan of Bergevin. Usually he justs has a revolving door of 3rd and 4th liners with no clear direction.

I like his moves this off-season. The contracts may not be ideal, but the Habs up front are MUCH improved with Anderson and Toffoli in the mix. Going to be an interesting division. The 3 BIG teams in TB, Bruin, Leafs...an improved Hab team....The Sabres bringing Hall in to play with Eichel.

Gonna be interesting...

Still think Habs trade someone then sign a 4th liner with muscles.

We definitely are improved, we are going to be hard to play against if all goes well (no injuries). Our division has improved a lot except Boston, they are probably going to trade or sign someone, else without Krug / Chara it might hurts a lot

Could do it all in 1 move, trade a contract and get the 4th line player you're looking for in return

Replaces Byron on the 4th line after he's dealt... use him on the PP

I would be all for getting Kovalchuck in a mentor, pp specialist role. The dude lost a step, but he is still one of the greatest snipers

Wow the only thing that is still kinda missing is a puck moving D that can carry the puck and set up the powerplay but other than that he brought in scoring wingers with size and thoughness and a guy that can stabilize the LD rotation and a real backup goalie.

If they can fix the powerplay this team can do some damage.

Still disapointed in the draft but excited for the season. Whenever that's going to be

He's got the shot still... limited role obviously!

Could be good for Romanov too, no other Russian on the team

You don't need it as bad now that we have some muscle on all 3 lines. But ideally yes.

I think Byron will have to go. He makes too much money just to be on that 4th line and be a PK specialist.

If it's sandpaper he's looking for to fill out that 4th line, my #1 choice is still Brendan Lemieux, NYR have a ton of LW and he's RFA

Kinda sad that we have to bring in 4th liners and the system can't produce one guy like that in the last 10 years, McCarron would have been a good fit there.

But hey keep the guy that keeps failing at the draft in place, heck give him a promotion as VP!

I'm old enough to remember when he was holding Duchene too long, ruining his value and he was called awful aa a GM. Funny
