Game time 730pm "The Chicago West Side Hockey Team"
BTW can the team name technically be changed to "The Chicago Bl-Hawks?" But if spoken as if this is just an abbreviation, the demonstrative anti Blackhawks people remain offended. Maybe some painting easels of their work should be encased in the walls of "The Blackhawks' United Center." So United Center is re- named too. Maybe a small walk through room indentation in the wall next to the team's gift shop with the history of The Blackhawk Indian? Nope that would be like rubbing salt in the wound. Tried to show compassion and respect but an indiginous people would view it as white supremacy gamesmanship. - jhawk59
Is this you writing out loud? I can't help but laugh. Honestly i don't know but the good news for me if i was for it or against it, it doesn't matter because i can't do anything about it, or can i? I'm even confused about that.

Something like this was posted earlier, or I read it somewhere else. Sakic inquired about Saad and Cro. Stan says it'll cost you Byram. End of conversation. |

It could have cost him a cup as well, we’ll never know. Colorado looks good, they just need to find a goalie. |

Things are awful quiet in regards to Strome, the issue is that forwards are not bringing much back in current market Whether we like him or not, he’s young, has size, and puts up some points, he just doesn’t fit this team unless he adds some muscle and competes in board battles and elevates his defensive game. If he can improve on these deficiencies, we can live with his speed (see Handzus, Michel). |

Not to continue this conversation but are you honestly trying to equate random events, or violence conducted on an individual by a non-rational actor (such as shark attack), to decades/centuries of deliberate violence (physical/mental/economic) against entire races of people by other humans (including government sanctioned actors- hell its even in the US constitution)? Sorry, they are not even close to the same thing. - Revco38
Agreed. I was gonna post something similar. Random clashes between man and nature not really in the same ballpark as genocide. |

They were quiet with Perlini last year then we found out he was minimum qualified. |

Cap space in most years is an Asset - not so much this year with a shortened season and likely much lower revenue base
so while we have cap space to potentially take on a bad contract with a sweetener, this year teams are less likely to do that as they done have the revenue base to offset that dead contract
certainly makes this off season a very disjointed one to analyze trades - glennjpawlak22
With so many teams trying to get under the cap (either the 81.5M or an owner imposed limit), wouldn't cap space be worth more this season? |

White Sox to interview Tony La Russa for their manager's vacancy. Can't say the Sox practice age discrimination. |

Hmmm... If I’m Sakic I do that trade as long as I can figure it out under the cap.
Byram is a top prospect, but he’s still just a prospect. Also with Makar in the lineup - I’m even more comfortable in parting with Byram. |

Crawford definitely had a M-NTC and it was a 10 team trade list.
He also had a NMC but it was to prevent being placed on waivers, not traded specifically.
New Jersey has also given him a NTC. |

It at least cost them a chance at the SCF imo. Colorado was the better team vs Dallas outside of the goalie position and Vegas wouldn't have been able to handle the high offense / good defense of Colorado if they had issue with Vancouver imo.
If Colorado doesn't win a cup in the next handful of years, I wonder if they'll look bad at 2020 the one that got away. Like Iginla will always regret turning down a trade to Boston to go to Pittsburgh in 2013 and Pavelski will regret signing with Dallas over Tampa this past off-season. |

Agreed, you only get so many chances at the elusive cup, or at another cup actually. Yes the Danault trade was brutal ( there’s no denying that), but you can’t say that Stan wasn’t trying to get one more. Sometimes you just have to go for it, you just never know when you’ll have another opportunity. This was the year to come out of the west, the road may or may not be paved for them in the future as it was this year. LBR, thanks for all the information that you put out, much appreciated. |

I wouldn't be opposed to signing Vatanen if it's on a one-year deal to continue the trend that Bowman seems to be setting.
However, to your point, there is a glut of veteran blueliners now. So like the forward ranks, one or more players on the blueline need to be shipped out.
I would still venture to say that the 2020-21 D corps will include Boqvist and at least one more youngster, i.e. Carlsson as the lead candidate but could be a mix of him, Mitchell, Kalynuk, or Beaudin. - Theo Fox
Agree it seems that there is a glut on D; but the other option might be to have all vets in the NHL and send the prospects down to play together in Rockford until they are fully ready, and then flip the vets for futures. Bring them in one at a time when they are ready.
Keith - Murphy
DeHaan - Vatanen
Zadorov - Seabrook
Seeler
Beaudin - Boqvist
Carlsson - Mitchell
Kalynuk - Regula
Krys - Franson
Similarly Nylander might go to Rockford and when he shows something, comes back and a vet is traded. |

In that case Nylander can buy a house in Rockford he won't have to rent. |

True. Two completely useless top 6 forwards would really be overkill. |
