That's an exaggeration! It's only 2 pages of praise. 1 page of Benning bashing. And 20 pages of Marwood coddling.
If you're not going to get your facts straight, I can't even have a discussion with you!

- RealityChecker

Sorry man, but I have to live up to the over exaggerating tag I’ve been given.

Guess I need to give up my shtick and get back to defending Marwood.

Hey what about the and peace out sentiments, I must get points for that at least.

Got Schmidt. Aparently it was a great plan because of all of these plans this one is the best by a mile

I liked the trade.
I'm glad the Canucks didn't sign the contracts that Markstrom & Tanev got. I wasn't a huge fan of the Toffoli trade as I didn't think they had a good chance of retaining him knowing the cap challenges. The Holtby signing was decent and I had a good nights sleep after Troy from Richmond signed in Detroit. My opinion of Benning has not changed.

- Marwood

Solid post, I’m here if you need.

Rubbish. Benning showed discipline and let those deals pass. They are not misses.

Benning negotiated and walked when he didnt like the deals. A few days ago the usual fickle fans wanted this. It happened and all of a sudden the narrative switched. Now the narratives are switching again.

People just live to freak out.

- boonerbuck

imo its just hard to believe hes acting patient of his own accord. hes aggressively been pushing for the playoffs (which he deserves praise for achieving) but with a few key holes to plug in the offseason he suddenly becomes the epitome of patience?

we know hes struck out on a few and that the ufas who have walked said the contact from the team was minimal.. its obviously tough to compete in the market but at the same time imo either hes got cap concerns or theres an internal budget thing going on

I'm enjoying watching you now run and deflect from your posts the last couple of days. You are failing at painting the patient fans as the ones to be mocked after all that effort.

- boonerbuck

Lol. Your definition of patience is funny.

Fans who advocated draft and develop and no big UFA signings are impatient.

Fans who were lock step with a retool on the fly and agreed with almost every Benning contract handed out to UFAs are patient.

You keep using the word patience. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Barrie? and at a premium?? Tanev & Stecher were gone when JB circled back! He didn't "let those deals pass", it was actually quite the opposite

They "passed" on JB

- VanHockeyGuy

Regardless of how you phrase it, the plan was to let pending UFA's walk if the contract didnt fit. It came down to the discipline that we all demanded. Benning had many balls in the air on trades and showed the same discipline and waited it out. And here we are... a top 2 Dman for a 3rd with a significant salary difference and shorter term. Demko era has started.

What the (frank) are people freaking out about?

Alright, moving on, we have Hughes partner for the foreseeable future, now lets see JB do something about getting a top 6 RW because Jake ain't gonna be there at least not for more than stretches at a time as a tweener. Winnipeg is hurting for cap space, how about a 2021 5th rounder for Laine and get that headache off their hands.

Take off those rose colored sunglasses man! When JB circled back to Stecher & Tanev they had ALREADY signed with their new teams FFS. JB didn't walk, he waited too long.

Even when you go the draft and develope route you eventually must trade or sign free agents to balance out the roster, especially if you always draft the BPA 😌

thats the part i didnt like. everyone of their ufas wanted to come back but jb didnt keep them in touch throughout. of the 4 im only a little bummed about toffoli but i still think that the organization couldve handled the players better - if only to gain a little clout around the league of how the team does business

Makes you wonder how much of a discount he would’ve taken if there was room. 3 years at the same AAV or 4 years at less than 4M AAV? Would’ve been good value

Here's a good example...^^^^

You keep pressing that JB not upping his offers on OEL, Marky, Tanev, Barrie TT etc is a poor plan with your narrative flip.

So Mr Patience... what is it?

Everyone likes the trade. Some people want to point out that there was an amount of luck involved.

You want to paint it as hysteria.

Have at it as it seems you have a fetishistic need to paint yourself as reasonable and patient while everyone else is histrionic.

Yup so he moved on, found a good deal elsewhere. They’re passing on a lot more than the GM in those situations.

Lol - you're not bright enough to tell when someone's joking.

Btw, I've written for the last 7 years for the gm to stay away from all tier 1 UFAs.

The fact that you say I wanted the team to sign
ANY ONE OF THE PLAYERS YOU LISTED solidifies my opinion on your analysis.
