I wouldn’t exactly call Jim Benning good, but he’s certainly been lucky on the odd occasion

You think JV improves?
- belcherbd

I think that in a full 82 game season with JV in the top 6 he puts up around 20-25g a season. He is a 3rd wheel in the top 6, but he still brings each line a needed element and can produce over the course of a season. It is unfortunate that he is as inconsistent as he is, otherwise he would be a 30+g guy.

What the heck is Benning thinking? Let’s Tanev walk then trades more picks away to get a defenceman with a bigger contract and a gambling addiction! Welcome to the sh!tshowJim!

I’m pumped you will have tanev for 30 games and Marky’s bloated retirement contract will sink your franchise. Enjoy our castoff scraps

Each pairing is balanced with defensive and offensive styles. Canucks have more power play options now as well.

Did Vantel quit again?

He'd like to be here, but we couldn't re-sign him. Cap issues.

I'm thinking this signing was more luck than anything. He fell right into their lap

I have yet to see anyone say this is a bad trade so let's not create that storyline. If it's been posted on other forums, then leave it there.

Element of luck? Yeah but it goes with the territory. I don't think bad luck is an excuse for a bad move so why not give full credit to JB.

Like I said the other day, we're gong to have to see some internal development in order for this plan to materialize. Big season.

#Canucks sign defenceman Ashton Sautner to a one-year, two way contract.
- Pacificgem

Meh, two way deal. It's to reinforce the minors so you can call up the kids.
