He only has a 7 team no-trade list, so it's not entirely prohibitive but my guess is that if they were to ask him for that list he's probably putting the 7 teams with the least cap space on there - eichiefs9
True.
Whenever I see a rumor about an Isles trade from a friend of an employee I usually
Scrap it Since Lou was hired. No one would utter a word especially if they are privileged to be included in the inner circle that would know any trades or strategy discussed by the same.
Only a handful are privileged and they wouldn’t jeopardize their position telling anyone. Just doesn’t happen, nothing is said outside the organization until the press release is sent out. Just Lou’s policy and no one (frank)s with it.
That said I do believe they are looking to dump JB cap hit 100%. |

The time-release ones. They're the size of softballs but you only have to take one a week. |

Wheeler's Top-10 Goaltender Prospect Rankings:
Has Askarov at #1 but said it could easily flip-flop, full write-up on Sorokin below:
2. Ilya Sorokin, G, 25 (New York Islanders — 78th overall, 2014)
Previous ranking: No. 1
Russia’s next generation of top goalies is here and it’s probably their greatest generation to date, which says a lot. Ilya Samsonov, Igor Shesterkin and Alexandar Georgiev have established themselves as good NHL goalies and will soon establish themselves as great NHL goalies. And yet I think Sorokin, the only one we’ve yet to see make the jump, might be better than all three of his peers. His results in the KHL are astonishing, with an extended track record as impressive (or more so) than any goalie in recent history. It’s not just the career .930 save percentage in the KHL, either. It’s the fact that he has done it for 244 regular season without ever faltering across eight seasons. It’s the career .940 save percentage in additional 69 playoff games. It’s the track record across years of international competition. And it’s the way his game is constructed stylistically. Though he’s not a big goalie (6-foot-2, 176 pounds), Sorokin’s stance never falters, he’s rarely off his line, he reads and anticipates the play exceedingly well and he always looks completely unbothered by traffic, calmly looking through and then reacting around bodies to make stabbing saves. Though he doesn’t have the athleticism of Askarov, he rarely needs it because he does a better job controlling the first save, covering rebounds, deflecting pucks out of danger and catching everything that’s high-glove.
I’m never fully comfortable projecting a goalie who’s never played an NHL game as an NHL starter, but Sorokin’s as close as I get. |
