crap, well atleast its not a full NTC, 3 years 5m what a hell of a deal for a 60+ point RW, this will help Brady allot IMO, less pressure on him from other teams as they will have to worry about Dadonov as well. Well done Dorion on this one, older than Duclair but hes a much better and consistent player.

I do wonder where the narrative came from, the Sens were losing money before. If it only takes 6000 fans to break even. Not sure if was The Sens that said that before or just a case of social media

Just thought I’d go a bit off topic and respond to some in the last blog that have little faith in Stutzle being a center in the NHL.

Did a bit of research to see if there were any players drafted as a winger, and then converted to Center when they got to the NHL. Some of the names that came up:

David Backes
Claude Giroux
Pierre Luc Dubois
Sebastian Aho


There are more, but those were the most notable.

Aho, who could be the most comparable to Stutzle, didn’t play Center until he went to the Worlds, now he plays at center regularly.

Dadanov had options. Was initially contacted by 10 teams. Got to a shortlist of 3 and chose Ottawa. Has scored 25-plus in last three seasons #Sens

Getting Dadonov does nothing for the sens to be able to be a contender, it gives then leadership, and help for Brady also a good trade chip in 1-2 years if he stays a 60 point player. Help-s the rookies too as other teams will have to be wary of Dadonov freeing up space for others, tho older than duclair, he is MUCH more consistent and a better player than duclair, rather give Dadonov 5m over 3 years than duclair.

signing duclair now would be a mistake, they need spots in the top 6/9 for their prospects to make the jump this year.....

Dadonov probably becomes our leading scorer.

He’s on the top line for sure
