If Soderberg is so desirable, why hasn't anyone signed him yet for nothing but a salary? - Elbows15
The reasons Soderberg has not signed are related to age and previous salary. When his agent realizes his worth in this current climate he will get a one year deal somewhere. I think he would be a nice acquisition in an under $2M deal. |

I wouldn't mind, but you already have Walmark, Kampf, Janmark, etc. that can play 3/4 center, and that is assuming Strome is launched (who I agree is not a 3C, but would probably be if he is not traded.

I warmed to Darth's idea of signing Kahun. Use him as a swiss army knife, can play on the Hawks anywhere from line 1 to line 4 Toews, Kubalik, Kahun is intriguing to me. |

If it is true Saad had little value imagine where Strome's value is right now? |

Agreed. And people forget Crow took over as a rookie and played 57 games in his first reg season. Had a better defense than any of these 3 will see in front of them this season however. To me, Lankinen is the one you move forward with at 1A. Curious as to your and Theo’s thoughts on this? - Assman22
Rarely do I see Thompkins name mentioned. Small sample size but I liked what I saw. I want to see more of this guy and wouldn't be surprised if he comes out as one of the two fools the hawks use. |

I don't see Strome being traded. I say let him develop for another year and work on his game. He's far too talented to give up on.
Hell i say that with all the Hawks, even Nylander, since they've decided this is the route they are going to go. |

My guess Delia because of Coliton's "familiarity" with him. Just spitballing here, but I can still see MAF in a Hawk uniform. I think Vegas is bluffing (see what I did there) about willing to keep $12M dollars of salary just for goaltenders. Probably the Hawks cash in the Krueger "futures consideration" ticket stub. - LAHawk
I don’t see any vet goalie coming in. Rocky / Danny trying to cut costs in financially troubled times, there likely will not be a financial benefit to making the playoffs even if Fleury were to be the “missing piece” leading them, and they seem to have committed to the goalie youth program. If they’re going to be bad, this is the year to do it - much less fan anger, I think. |

I think you need to look at salary also. Strome might be attractive to some GM just because his salary will be lower than Saad's. But I do understand what you are saying. |

I would think it would be a bit higher. His qualifying offer was peanuts (comparatively), he's a center, and he put up more points. Regardless of the rest of his game, that tends to count for something. |

Does anybody have Subban's numbers for the stretch where Fluery was injured? I've heard that when he was he had several starts, he played better, hut I am curious as to how good his "better" is. - tvetter
Re:Subban's number.
I have none; just my eyeballs.
he has not been a good NHL goaltender to this point. |

I'm sure it had way more to do with renegotiating with the Saad family and his list of 10 teams. Strome can be traded anywhere |

I tend to agree with you here. However , under the current circumstances, and with Bill Foley himself signing off on keeping both goalies, I think he stays. |

If he goes anywhere, I highly doubt he is coming to the Hawks. From everything that I've read, they are doing everything they can to cut dollars from the roster.
I wouldn't be surprised if one more vet D-man gets moved, and maybe a surprise forward.
I'm setting my expectations way low for the coming year (if we have a season). |

Agree, but he's also never had a real long term shot either. His work ethic is stellar, lets the guys shoot on him in practice forever which is where the backup earns his money. Perfect year to give him his chance, but don't take stats too seriously as the team figures to suck. |

Agreed, there’s no doubt that Rocky is in cost cutting mode. He may not be dollar Bill Wirtz, but under these circumstances he’s thinking along those lines. |

I’ve heard about interest from Philly and Boston, but does anyone think Stan might call his old buddy Chevy about Laine? Get Kane a right-handed shot who can score? |

There are other choices, get the heck out of Illinois for one. Also don’t be fooled, this “fair tax” will raise everyone’s taxes. |

I have a friend who has owned a company for decades. He just changed his residency to Florida where he owns a condo. And he'll have the excuse to spend more time in nice weather all winter instead of working his sack off up here. Most likely what a lot of the people that have the means to do so will do. And the middle class will get it stuffed up their butts. Again. |

I like him too but Tompkins may very well end up in Indy with our goalie depth. I did not care for Rockford carrying 3 goalies last season. Tough to see what a player can do with part time work. |
