I really can't see how a LE to Ottawa deal wouldn't work. Maybe JB is hesitant to pay the price but if it's any lower than a 1st it should be a no brainer.

I mean obviously it's not happening since JB has had plenty of time to have every GM in the league hang up on him when he mentions LE, but I'd be really curious to know what his limit has been. TO paid a 1st to get out from 1 year of Marleau, wonder if negotiations have involved Vans 2021 1st at all.

It cost the Leafs a 1st to have the Canes buy him out. It was a stipulation on Marleau's part.

650 talking about Hoffman signing a 1 year here doesn’t make any sense to me. Another D is more important on a 1 year deal. Anything longer is an e-draft issue especially if a trade giving up assets.

If JB does sign a forward, a playmaker like Granlund may be better for the Canucks. They need a play maker on Bo's line desperately. It would be a boost having him on the 2nd PP unit as well.

IF Benning could LTIR Ferland, all he would need to do is dump either Beagle or Roussell and he could possibly sign Granlund, JV and Gaudette within the cap budget.

I dont like giving too many minutes to Myers and and if you're beside Hughes, you are getting big minutes. I'd much rather see Schmidt beside Hughes. I think OJ Myers makes more sense.

I preferred Dadonov before he signed. Any UFA F signed I’d figure Baertschi/LE demoted & Ferland on LTIR. After JV & Gaudette sign that would make it 13 F’s. Run 8 D.
