Sam is somewhere between what the Haters think he is and where the lovers think he is. - Pegullaville
Reinhart is the exact kind of guy a team making a run wants to add at the deadline.

Yes and no. Long term contract moreso.
However, the Arb ruling could pay him say $5.85sh over 2 years. That may balk up his long term contract by not fully allowing 2 years to be discounted as much as Sabres might hope for.
$6.75 - $7.25 is what I would guess on a 5+ year term - IonSabres
Heard 2 years mentioned multiple times. KA picks the length here. Why would he ever elect 2 years and send him straight into UFA?

What exactly do the “lovers” think he is?
I don’t really see much “love” for Sam
Just some ppl telling the haters that he’s actually a good player who doesn’t suck
It’s the haters that overreact regarding him |

True - RhinoFan
But i was told there’s “plenty of reasons” for Dahlin to sign NOW
Yet to see any actual reasons though
Fear of a career ending injury is the only one i can think of |

Can't use UFA deals to set markets in Arb. It's not allowed.
The Gallager contract has been said to be a bad comparable to Reinhart. I would actually use Domi, if anything. - TheSabresTaco
Lot good comps between 5.4 and 6m. I don't think he has a very good case for anything above Larkin's 6.1m. Of course, I don't actually expect this to get to that point.

wild thought:
Sign UFA Hoffman
Trade Reinhart, Miller, Mittlestadt and Hutton to CGY for
Monahan, Hanifan, Riitich
Reinhart is from CGY and CGY seems to not be thrilled with Monahan |

Why do ppl think CGY is trading Monahan?
Their Center position would be in brutal shape if they did that
Tkachuk would be my target
When they get done laughing(?)....
then I’d ask about Lindholm |

I am not sure anyone "loves" reinhart
I only point out the good things due to the constant bashing he gets from half the board
he isn't a top 20 sabre for players I like all time, not even close
but he is a sabre, and I root for my team
I think his 2 way game is under appreciated, his chemistry with eichel is assumed by most could be replaced with anyone
the chemistry he has with jack is impressive to watch and saw nothing like that with jack and olofsson
if he was picked 32nd overall instead of 2nd, the bashing would be reduced
some people are butt hurt because Murray didn't pick Leon
nothing more
nothing less

I am one of those people, and unfortunately for you guys you’ll have to hear about Rossi now for 5 plus years too.
However, I agree with the rest of the post. Sam is a 200 foot winger who can pot 55-65 points.
To me it depends ultimately on his contract.
If he is ultimately overpaid for what he brings to the team then that is not really efficient. |

He's a good complimentary player. I've never heard anyone argue less. If he's your second best forward, you have a bad team. |

If only Gallagher had an elite shot to bury all of those chances he creates.
That’s the one flaw of the fancy stats, it doesn’t measure individual skill attributes. - Pegullaville
$6m for 5 years or $5 for 1 year
Thats my final guess(es) |

Reinhart is not from CGY. He's from Vancouver and played for the Kootenay Ice, halfway between Van and CGY. He has no ties to CGY from what I gather. |

I'm just glad that now that the Sabres saw the common sense after the end of the year in their meetings when they were discussing what they needed for next year was upgrades in the top wings. That will place Sam where he belongs after he signs and hopefully in these discussions. Mr supportive second-line winger where he always belonged. Now, he will milk his lucky stars that the Sabres had nothing better and his jacked-up stats for an arbitrated or negotiated inflated contract. Such is life, it is better to be lucky than good. 6+ to 7 mill good. |

I'm not so sure the Taylor Hall signing was so much of a "we need to upgrade at wing" move so much as "if you can get a guy that talented, you do it".

Just curious if it's exhausting going out of the way to hate a player on the team you supposedly cheer for? My guess is not really, but I find myself wanting all of them to play well. Sam has steadily gotten better, and has an underrated defensive game. Is he a world beater? No. Is he the teams biggest problem. Hardly. But keep making these posts to "show" that he is just because Ralph had a connection (which I'm also happy he did" |

A good chunk of the skunk haters hate Risto just as much
assumed he was gone 18 months ago, 12 months ago, 7 months ago, 7 days ago
interesting take with Ralph and Risto at the bottom of this article

I said they had to do better than Skinner and Reinhart as their top two wingers and oh boy that did not sit well with the lovers. Reinhart WAS a top-line winger and don't forget Skinner is a 40 goal scorer not a 14 goal scorer.
Now, I LOVE the revisionist history of someone on here who supports the Sabres because they are his team after bashing the Hell out of them and some yacht relentlessly. That is classic!! The bashing will commence again by that poster, he stays in lanes like a drunk driver.

easy now, our Illinois poster said he is a pathetic prospect because he didn't score goals last season
kid was literally a top 10 player in that league on ppg production but stunk
of course that poster hates reinhart as well
