LHD and a good one at that. Not sure how I feel about him, I guess it depends what you have to trade an if you can offset by trading Miller or Montour elsewhere |

Figures we would sign Hall, the season gets canceled, then he walks. - Powerslave
I'd be more worried about his injuries
I didn't watch him in Arizona but when he came back from his knee injury he didn't seem to have that edge he had before, not sure if he was holding back and wasn't comfortable at first but when he is on he is on

Not sure if was talked about but the knights GM said that he doesn't see next season starting until Feb 1st and not a full 82 games, probably 48-56 games and said only if fans are allowed in because the NHL is a gate revenue league where if people aren't there teams won't survive.....and bubbles won't work for regular season
If there is no season what happens to contracts? Will the be rolled over? But what happens to those older players like marleau who may not have it in them a year older - dmarsden2988
It's an excellent question, and my guess is there is no answer right now.
I'm not even sure what happens to guys getting payments if there is no season - do they give the money back?
Probably an epic fight between the NHL and NHLPA is coming. |

that's why i'd prefer him away from jack with staal and, probably (i hope,) cozens - Michael Pachla
While I am sure Krueger was a big selling point, and as you mentioned in your very well written and informed thread, eichel was another selling point. I am sure hall had discussions about playing with eichel knowing that his points will increase just by having a top center so his next contract will be one he can comfortably live with
I think he will play with eichel and if things don't work out move down to staal
He was able to do his thing more with Nico because Nico even as a rookie has a good 2 way game and helped cover Hall's lapses on defense |

I'm also guessing that he was given assurances that he would play with Eichel.
Of course, promises are made to be broken. |

Dadanov signed 3yrs 15mill in Ottawa, pretty good signing for them - Buff36
I’d have done that here for sure if we could’ve made it work with the Cap |

My theory on Gardiner is that growing up, his skating skills were always better than the kids he was playing with. So whenever he got into trouble, he could always just skate himself out of it. He never learned how to actually play hockey.
And then he got to the NHL.
He seemed like a nice guy, I don't want to pile on him (because he took far too much abuse in Toronto), but good lord, sometimes he would just do stuff that would make you shake your head.
He was especially fond of hanging onto the puck for too long while skating out of the zone, running of out options, and making a panic pass to his d-partner that would absolutely frank him.
But hey, doesn't count as a turnover for ol' Jakey, right? |

He actually mentioned that in his introduction presser. How for the first time since his injury he is completely healthy. |

a knee injury like his always takes that 2nd year to feel "normal" again. |

It’ll be interesting to see how they gel,
bc Eichel & Hall BOTH like to carry the puck
Might make sense to split them up,
and have each of them be the focal point of their own line |

Skinner Jack Skunk
Hall Staal Cozens
Looks real good to me as Staal can certainly play the distributor role |

Think hall is looking for what will make him the most on a long term contract and playing with eichel will maximize his points potential
I am assuming other teams didn't offer long term contracts due to flat cap and uncertainty with covid so figured his best shot at a big payday is to get through next season with Max points
There weren't many long term deals handed out this year and he could have gone to a team that has shown they are or at least have been a playoff team
He took a gamble so time to see if it pays off |

We are all having fun wondering who Hall wants to play with, but I think we also need to ask who Eichel wants to play with. |
