“Brown was scheduled to go before an arbitrator later today. One factor in both sides settling so close to the hearing was the new rule where no settlement could be reached after the hearing began per the MOU. Meaning they would have then had to wait for the arbitrator’s decision.”

Sheesh. Why would they change that rule in a year like this? Welp Buffalo better take care of those 3 ASAP |

I’m honestly thinking they are using the arbitration date as a deadline then to basically squeeze a 2-3 year deal out of both Olofsson and Reinhart at a more favourable cap hit.
Or I’m just overestimating the intelligence of our front office |

Ullmark 2 × 3.4 = 6.8
Olloffson 4 years × 4.25 = 17 million
Sam 1 x 5.75 = 5.75

No sir.
I believe they publicize that the day of or the day before the hearing |

Good question.
Why did the NHL eliminate the legal tampering period for UFAs this year?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

Ullmark 2 years 3M per
Olofsson 2 years 3.25M per
Reinhart 3 years at $6.5M per
Those are my guesses. |

Can’t see Olofsson getting as much as Kubalik.
Also Mangiapane came in at $2.4M which is highway robbery for Calgary.
So I settled on $3.25M for Olofsson, as he will probably use the Kubalik contract as the main comparison |

Same ballpark. I'm hoping they lock olloffson down for a long term deal.
3 at 6.5m for sam seems very respectable
Ullmark- not sold yet on him being the #1 nhl goalie.
*different from the 1rw discussion yesterday.
#1 playoff goalie ( ,good enough to make the playoffs) |

It sounds like what we've got is what we've got, at least to start the year.

I'm out, if your making side deals with taco. 😉
Good luck with taco, careful on negotiating the sam deal, Taco rides the sam hammer pretty strong. Suit and tie - no sweatpants |

I read the athletic article this morning.
If krueger looks at the hutton "middle season "stats,
He will be gone this afternoon.
I really can't see the Sabres going into 2021 with this tandem.
As a season ticket holder. Goaltending is the #1 reason we lost last season. Never a big save , beyond stats.... |

I had sam at 1 for 5.75? Let's meet in the middle 🤝
What happened to 7+ million you've been suggesting for a while? Pandemic? Reality?
I think the Sabres walk if it goes to arbitration.
Imagine the Ka-boo-hoo-huning around here, when Sam's rendered expendable and thrown away. |

I don't recall suggesting he would receive 7 million. I could be wrong, and feel free to quote me, but I've always been around 6.5ish long term. Short term, I think that number goes down. I think you think I'm this massive Sam Reinhart fan. You'd be incorrect, but that's not to say I can't provide an unbiased opinion for his skill and impact on the ice, and that his impact on the ice and his linemates is probably worth in the range of 6M. |

Let me guess, Sam's not even in your top 20 favorite Sabres players of all time. 😉

I need to know that you understand the difference between acknowledging skill and being a fan of a player.
Tom Brady is one of the best QBs of all time. I despise his existence.
Use that as an example.
I will defend Sam's skill because not doing so is not being honest, and being biased against him, as you have readily admitted. You don't have to like a guy, but saying he's not talented is simply being dishonest. |
