If they get Joki to take a team friendly deal, that would be swell. Dahlin is gonna get paid, it is what it is. Kid has made huge strides imo, and it's gonna start to be reflected. KO will eventually be gone, and so will Risto's 5 and change. Just gotta figure it out in the meantime, and hopefully we get good Skinner for the remainder of the contract. - SDSabre

If we can keep Taylor Hall, then you move the first rounder + to have someone take that Okposo contract.
We hope to god Seattle takes Eakin in the expansion draft.
Then you have to move Olofsson for futures or for back end help when Montour walks at the end of the year.
Saved everyone hours of debate, your welcome - Pegullaville
Maybe 2 separate deals :
Skinner to seattle plus our 1st
Okposo to arizona next off season plus a 2nd and some $ retained. 2 years less, makes it more moveable |

This would be amazing ...... because LONG TERM cap wise, this helps play out what we can do with future signings and fitting players under the cap.

internal budget is all well in good and then the risk of losing Jack comes to the forefront and Hall wants to sign with Buffalo, Internal budget goes away - Pegula always loves the big names anyway. Can still maintain an internal budget if nothing else is done in the offseason (after arbitration) except selling off Miller, Montour or Risto |

Perhaps. Other ways would be moving on from Sam, and getting younger talent in return (this isn't me hating or being a Sam-disbeliever or whatever, just an option) Again, think Joki and VO taking team friendly deals will help. And yes, if Hall is open to staying, he stays. Seattle could take Risto if he's still on the team, and I wouldn't cry about it. |

You absolutely sacrifice a 1st round pick + okposo for cap space to keep hall.

Skinner has a NMC, signed here to be close to his family. Wanted to be here. Unless something goes horribly wrong and he just hates it next year, doubt that's a possibility. |

Hope so. Getting him signed now while he hasn't proven to be (flashes for sure) elite of elite yet would be a good thing for Buf. |

Kagm was a great signing so far -
Harbor center rink guard
Soccer man -
Turns out to be a well respected hockey coach. By his former players.
Homie has been wrong for months and the biggest complainer on here.
He needs to be checked after 6 days of free agency, calling out others for complaining.
Checks and balances ion - Boss34
So, you mean much like your constant, incessant complaining about Sam based on your critical perception of his play initially fueled by him blowing off a jersey signature.
We ALL have our issues we complain about.
For as good of a human and motivator as Ralph apparently is by all accounts; his in game and game day roster decision this past year has left most of us scratching our heads. I like Ralph, but playing Skinner on 3rd and 4th line, playing 7 D and 11 F, causing a D man to play up are just a couple.
It seems his issue was people complaining about the Hall acquistion based on assumptions they have made about the future that hasn't happened yet, not about actual actions that have occured.
I see a big, big difference. |

It’s definitely a risk.
I would move Risto + though for him and hope that Kreuger can get into his ear about his defensive metrics.
His shot though is the difference for me.
Believe me I’m all about the fancy stats. I’m willing to take the risk though and hope that the defensive numbers improve in our system while unleashing that beast on the right side of Eichel. - Pegullaville
I just think he's redundant and a poor use of cap on this team. If it's Risto straight up, yes I'd do it. At the end of the year I probably wouldn't even qualify him. $7.5 is too rich for my blood for what he would bring
On a team like the Preds he's a much better fit imo |

I was the “Tank Commander” for Cozens.
I was expecting to be a playoff contender last year and fell short, however I’m happy they kept the pick and got Quinn as he can be another contributor on an ELC.
At this point though it’s time to make the move. I always thought this offseason was the time to go balls out, I was expecting them to make some sort of move but I’d be lying to you if I thought we’d get Hall.
Now is time to make the moves everyone has been wanting to do for 2 years now. |

I think we all understand that Dahlin will be great ...... I wonder what the value is going to be?
Like for Eichel when we extended him for 8 years, his points + talent you could clearly see was worth 10 million.
Dahlin on the other hand, you see the talent and he plays defense. So hes not lighting it up as much as eichel.
Dahlin has 84 points in 141 career games AS A TEENAGER.
My guess is something like 8 years 6 to 7 million. I truly dont think its any higher.

You have to consider the poster
again he brings up that I think Jim Kelly was a scum for hitting on my sister in Atlanta while Hunter was home dying with his wife
I guess Boss would have encouraged his sister to sleep with Kelly, and drill a peep hole and explore his voyeurism side

You're probably a little light if he's signing for 8 years. My guess would be 8x8. Which I think I would be completely comfortable for him playing into and exceeding in the very short future. You come to the table with an 8x6/6.5/7 and he's prolly gonna say I'll bet on myself and that contract balloons up pretty good pretty quick with a good year (which I bet on as he's never had the talent at his disposal that he'll have now) |

If I’m Dahlin and his agent I’m not signing a long term deal...
If I’m the Sabres I want him long term ASAP.
If you want a long term deal that’s team friendly you have him signed tomorrow 8 years $6 million per and in a year or two that would be a huge bargain of a contract. |

I'd have to consult with Professor Beady, but my best guess would be about 3/4 ways to the end.

Is Taylor Hall worth a 1st rounder? Absolutely, so use that to make sure you can move Okposo and free up enough room |
