My post was solely about me questioning his current contract and him being able to provide its value throughout.

You've been dropping a lot of assumptions on me today Boss, and it hasn't panned out well.

- TheSabresTaco

Let's be realistic, it never really pans out well , not just today. 😉

I thought you were agreeing with ek9 being moved often , but is a physical player. 🤝

I personally haven't said anything on this message board that I wouldnt say directly to your face.
%1,000 in fact

As for Barry Sanders or walt peyton.

I'm not sure if the rb position could ever be the greatest ever football player ever? Seems like qb is more important to a team?

*just a statement or an opinion

QB'S do make the most $, get drafted higher and get most of the glory.

- Boss34

Jerry Rice is generally considered the greatest.

His stats compared to the next guy at his position are crazy.

He put up stats like he was playing in this era 30 yrs ago.

As far as greatest running back it’s Payton, Brown, Sanders and the gap is marginal between them and a case can be made.

Smith has I think 3 OL HOF’s he ran behind. Payton and Sanders were Chicago and Detroit’s team for a very long time.

Jim Brown is well Jim fvcking Brown.

Thx.

Wondering why Irwin played 22 minutes a game for NSH, when for most of his career, he's been nothing more than a 6th/7th d-man.

Wondering what his advanced stats say about him.

Did he suddenly morph into Duncan Keith?

Do u dock all the other “top line players” that play with really good centers??
Bc that would be about 75% of them, right?
At least 50%

Is Jerry Rice not the best WR of all time bc he had Montana & Young as his QBs?

Your “Eichel” argument ONLY (kinda) works in a vacuum sir,
bc it only makes sense if other centers aren’t also helping other RWs they play with
But we all know that happens with just about every team

- jdfitz77

Jerry Rice did it at a high level for a very long time and did it no matter who threw to him.

This is good fitz.

I guess I'm looking for the rice or montana in the eichel - sam discussion?

Maybe that's why the signed hall?

Sam can't elevate his skating or game enough, to be either player in the equation. ( or really even close)

Whomever is on McDavid's line surely doesnt get a free pass .

I don't really care about him moving on. I liked his game, didn't like him as a person(we're back here talking about acknowledging skill but disliking person), very well aware of his history, and I am glad the Sabres didn't give him that contract. Olofsson has already surpassed Kane's point production with Eichel, and Reinhart has more or less matched it.

I liked the physical elements that he brought, but Skinner is a much more effective player that, while doesn't bring the outright physicality that Kane provides, is equally or more hard to play against. I'll take Skinner at 9 over Kane at 7.

If you are playing against ek9 , you look for him on the ice for safety reasons 🙂

Skinner needs to be accounted for , and is also difficult to play against. (Prior to his new deal)

I don’t think Smith is IMO.

You put Smith on those Detroit teams and he’s nothing but a good running back.

No. He is what he is. An end of the bench defender, a grinder and hopefully a decent penalty killer.

I listened to his zoom call. He said he asked for a trade from Nashville due to low playing time and that Anaheim accommodated his desire to play more. He said he needed to look out for himself as a pending UFA

To add further insult to injury.

Dominik Simon signed for $700K and basically gives Calgary everything Girgensons gives us for 1/3 of the price.

I should have tuned into their zoom calls. I was really impressed by Hall. I remember when he had his maturity issues back 7-8 years ago. But that's off topic.

I don't know why Matt Irwin thinks he deserves to play more. And then also says I need to earn it. And he's trying to earn it on the team with arguably the best top 3 in the league with Josi, Ekholm and Ellis.

I noticed that 22 minutes for irwin as well in the article.

Strange, because they have one of the best group of defenseman and defensive depth in the league.

Thought he was an afterthought/ Rochester guy.

Montour or Miller gotta be looking over their shoulder.

But statistically, emmitt put up some giant numbers.

Numbers being used, Something we use sometimes to compare greatness .

He has the superbowl wins and tds (points) , whether he was in the right system or not.

I'd take Thurman over emmitt 8 days a week.

It’s not just mcdavid & Eichel

U think Pasternak & Marchand haven’t benefited from playing with Bergeron?
What about MacKinnon’s wingers?
Crosby’s?
Malkin’s?

Are u getting my point yet?

NO ONE HERE HAS EVER SAID SAM IS “ELITE”
But that doesn’t mean he isn’t “good”

And just bc he doesn’t excel in certain areas,
doesn’t mean he’s not a good, useful player

So?
They could’ve still traded him anywhere
Not like he’d retire at his age or anything drastic like that (I’m assuming)
