There's a man that's just big. I can't imagine what it would be like standing next to him - leafsfann
No respect for that guy. Despite being the biggest guy in the league, he's one of the dirtiest cheap shot artists who gets away with more shiit than anyone.
I don't see how anyone can reasonably complain about getting Joe Thornton on a 1 year, 700k deal. Even if he doesn't work out, it's only 700k and 1 year. But at the very least, he's a big body, with great leadership qualities, that can play a responsible game in the bottom six.
It's always good to have more centers, in case of injury, and he might be useful for some secondary offense, and helping on the powerplay.

Agreed. I mean it’s not like he’s a billion years old fer chrst’s sake.
Hey my nana’s really into memes too...especially the animal ones. You want i tell her to email you her joke of the day???
Also nana wants to know if joe thornton is single. She normally skews a lot younger than 41 but she says she’d make an exception for a jumbo. - bruceflyers
This would be my guess, too. Don't like Vesey in the lineup, though. I'd rather Engvall in over him.
Robertson might be pushed back a year if there's too many guys. - GreatGigInTheSky
I'm thinking this is the case. Problem is, where does Nick play if he doesn't make the big team? Can he play in the AHL since the CHL season has been cancelled?
Robertson showed he has the ability to contribute and perform in the NHL already.... Hopefully, this off-season, he bulks up, improves his endurance, and continues to refine his skill-set...
Also, he is not eligible to play in the AHL as an 18 year old... There will not be a CHL season.
Hence, hereto, therefore, evidently, in summary, Robertson shall play for the Leafs.
P.s... PSA to 'bruceflyers' - the spreading of your negativity only serves to dampen your soul further than it already dwells...we all wish you the best path towards healing....
I like the fact that Keefe has options. I dont care for line up construction because they will work it out. - Aaron_85
He has SO many options now, very versatile roster. I'm assuming training camp will have some surprises as well. We have a healthy amount of players ready to compete

Nicely put PSA.
I doubt that there will be an AHL season as well. I can’t see scenarios that would allow fans and many of the NHL teams that sponsor them are in no position to do so in the coming year.
You could see the Leafs loan some players to European teams while still picking up their salaries (another advantage their financial poverty gives them). In that scenario, if it becomes a toss up, guys like Barabanov, Kershov could stay in the K. Lehtonen is there now but since he is only on a one year contract I doubt he stays there. Robertson has to play somewhere and unless he is sound,y beat out, l think he’s on the team and he sure looked like he fits earlier.

Pretty sure that’s the absolute definition of being a loser.
Some people are born into it...just one giant family of losers... - bruceflyers
Being a fan of a hockey team that loses does not, by any sane definition, make you a loser. It’s astounding that anyone would look at life that way.
It is safe to say, however, that someone (apparently an adult) who puts so much emotional energy into trolling on a hockey site is a certifiable loser on a whole bunch of fronts.
If you think your not very original taunts are upsetting, you’re wrong. The only thing I feel is pity.
