I was watching his goals of 19-20 and he has undeniable skill. Lots of potential there. - JRR1285
Yea unless a trade comes around that the rangers just can’t pass up, I am giving Chytill more time |

This is exactly what I'm getting at. I don't even know why we're having this conversation. Chytil, in my mind, is exactly where he should be in his career. Are there areas of his game that he can improve on, sure. But it's totally unfair to expect a 21yo to have the tangible skills of a player who has been in the league for a while.
How quickly we forget that 17yo Chytil was drafted three years ago...DRAFTED! |

Stop talking sense. You know exactly why we are talking about this. Because there is absolutely nothing else going on. |

Purely hypothetical, because I'm curious what some of you would do:
If Tampa offered you Cirelli for Kakko straight up...do you do it? - eichiefs9
I love Cirelli but NO WAY! |

Got to give Chytill some time to fill out his frame. He is still a tall lanky dude. Once he puts on some muscle will be better in the trenches - TPC
Any dude who can look like him and land the strange he did is a-ok in my book |

These are my goals for Chytil next year.
Points: 40 ('19-'20, 23)
Takeaway: 45+ ('19-'20, 33)
Giveaways: 35- ('19-'20, 33)
Faceoff %: 44% ('19-'20, 38.4%)
Hits: +/- 40 ('19-'20, 13)
If hits those marks, I will call it a huge success and massive progress.
Im using a baseline between Kuznetsov who is one of the softest people on the ice and Bergeron who is regarded as one of the best defensive forwards ever.
Essentially what this is saying is, I want him to use his size more. Hit people. Get involved and get dirty. Dont be so easy to get pushed off the puck and be smarter with it. Faceoffs, obviously. Im not asking for astronomical increases (except maybe the hits, but with the hits come the other stats) from what hes been doing. |

I agree with some of this but if you expect hits from Chytil, it aint happening. Its not his game. He was way tougher on the puck last year and went to the dirty areas, he just needs to build on that. |

That dude fought his way into the zone, taking a hit while hugging the boards time after time. I know because my son and I would replay it and use it as a teaching tool. If you can't get on board with that, I don't know what to tell you. |

right now, I have the Rangers protecting Chytil and exposing Howden in expansion draft
could that change depending on this coming season?
its possible, but Howden would have to really explode
also a chance they could protect both because in my prelim list I have them protecting Strome |

Which is essentially what my numbers are building on. The hits arent be all end all, but if hes not willing to use his body no one will ever be afraid to take him on. Even the "softer" guys in the league are posting 50+ hits per season. Its something he has to work on doing. |

But its likely Strome only signs for 1 year, so its irrelevant to protect him. |

probably, but he could sign a two year and then end up having an 80 point year with Panarin, so what do they do then |

And if Strome has an 80 point year, Id trade him and sell high, IF Chytil makes more strides this year and looks like he could slot into a 2C role. |
