I believe Shesty is exempt and they'll protect Georgie. Still leaving Kinkaid exposed though. |

Bitetto just needs 20 games
definitely something to consider though - jimbro83
Have they updated the number of games needed to be compliant for the expansion draft?

Was wondering about that. Has the league announced how many games will be played next season? |

Probably not.
Also think Jimbo is right that they won't do anything earth shattering until after the draft and the huge hits come off the books. |

Its the sane and rational thing to expect with the upcoming season and all that comes with and after it. |

Actually think it's more of a snuff scenario.

Pajuniemi is a guy that could work his way to the AHL and make some noise. He’s played very well since we drafted him but he’s not really talked about in terms of our prospects. He’s a sleeper prospect for me this year. |

I agree with the vibe that the front office has taken a "wait till next yesr" stance. It's understandable, considering the financial and COVID uncertainty surrounding this season.
But, it could be dangerous position to take once it creeps into the "room". Players like the breadman and zib will not be happy with this notion, as they will be a year older. Besides, no player worth his salt, wants to wait to win. For me, it's about roster construction, and I think they're doing a poor job with it.
I hope JDs "big picture" doesn't come back to bite him. Just sayin. |

they are adding a big piece with Lafreniere though
I know our only experience with this is Lias Andersson and Kaapo Kakko so we are extremely skeptical about a draft pick coming in and playing great right away, but there's no doubt in my mind he'll be as productive as first overall picks of the recent past have been, like Kane, Tavares, Hall, Mackinnon.
That's what we got here, it's a huge addition

Absolutely. But the front office didn't do anything to achieve that, it was the luck of the draw, and I'm thrilled it happened. Let's face it, you and I could have sat at the table and made that pick. |

No offense, but all of that has to be conjecture, right? Because, I can just as easily say how excited they must be to play with and develop top level young talent.
And, I see it less as a “wait til next year” thing and more of a “we’ve played our hand to this point and are up against the cap for one year, so let’s see who can give us what” sort of situation. |

They'll be thrilled if LAF comes and pots 30, but they'll be less happy if they don't make the playoffs. Pro athletes want to win above all else. |
