I agree with the vibe that the front office has taken a "wait till next yesr" stance. It's understandable, considering the financial and COVID uncertainty surrounding this season.
But, it could be dangerous position to take once it creeps into the "room". Players like the breadman and zib will not be happy with this notion, as they will be a year older. Besides, no player worth his salt, wants to wait to win. For me, it's about roster construction, and I think they're doing a poor job with it.
I hope JDs "big picture" doesn't come back to bite him. Just sayin. - OLDSCHOOL#6
Heres the problem, and the players need to understand this... the expansion draft is making a lot of teams hold back from making moves because you dont want to use assets and over saturate your roster with gifted talent only to have it lifted away a year later. This is a time for them to reflect and focus on looking around the locker room and saying, "ok, these are my guys for the next 5-6 years". It would be nice to bring in a bunch of guys but right now the focus is to not sh1t the bed and keep this new core together. |

They'll be thrilled if LAF comes and pots 30, but they'll be less happy if they don't make the playoffs. Pro athletes want to win above all else. - OLDSCHOOL#6
Thats not necessarily true, i.e. Hall, Taylor. |

It can backfire in either direction, but I think were in an excellent position to be working from. Id say we have our top 6 situation pretty much under control other than 2C, which... we dont know yet whats happening there. For all we know its just a stall tactic to see what happens with Tampa and Cirelli. Theres still a lot of offseason left. |

we have to come to grips with the fact that just because they are the New York Rangers they can't get the 11 million a year player every off season |

do you remember the old Honeymooners episode where Kramden yells at Alice

Pretty much the same team this year as last year with more consistent goal tending and a little extra pop offensively. They made the “playoffs” last year, no reason to think they can’t make them again.

Pretty much how I see it. Shesty should be better than Hank was last year. The defense is a year older after all the new faces. Offense should be even better. Cup team, nah, playoff team definitely should be. |

I don't think I ever seen an episode of either. Don't they do a marathon of the Honeymooners on New Years or something? |
