Its okay when Podz comes over with Tryamkin they'll be instant fan favorites. Two guys that will fill needs on present line up.

If Benning gives Tree a one way deal he's an idiot.

That’s your take bloated, I like Beagle and Roussel you don’t, tough titty
Motte is an excellent player for the expectations of his roll.

Eriksson is the only blemish on his fantastic tenure as the best GM in Canucks history.

Just be patient and send Eriksson to the Comets, no need to hyperbole over adding a 1st..

- Makita

For sure no need to waste assets on trying futile trades to dump camp. Time it right and sometime in 2021 LE is gone.

Ferland likely winds up on LTIR after comeback attempt #4 failure is insured this time.

There is no point in bringing him over for the AHL. A one year show me deal is probably the goal.

Tree seems content to play a bigger role in the KHL than the NHL. There's no way he considers a two way deal.

You have to go back to 2017 and the last player selected to find a 1st round Russian forward selection who's done worse than Podkolzin in the KHL. Klim Kostin (F). 10th vrs 31st.

I hear Kuchrrov was awesome in the KHL.

People who think our D is in good shape are in for a surprise.
- VanHockeyGuy

I think most will agree it still needs work.

But having a 'legit' first pairing in Hughes/Schmidt is a great start.

Edler/Myers after that and round out the rest.

Losing Tanev really isn't going to be that big of a deal.

He hasn't earned a one year deal, why would JB give him one? How about a NTC?

That was my point on two way makes no sense for him. But he was ready to sign to come now it was a timing issue. That's why he only singed a 1yr KHL deal this time for the next window Canucks can make space to sign him over.

Hard to argue that the top 4 wont be better. Think about it. Schmidt is a better Dman than Tanev. He's not injury prone like Tanev. Hughes very most likely improves.

The bottom pairing needs work without a doubt. They need to promote at least 1 d prospect I think. We'll suffer the growing pains but that comes with the territory.

That's funny it doesn't matter if you don't like the player the logic and reality of the situation dictates a different outcome. If Canucks want him he's signing a one way deal. Probably short term. Otherwise their rights expire and he'll go show them up somewhere else.

Disagree there.
I wouldn't be mad if JB signed him to a 1 year, one way show me deal on a low salary.

That's an improvement in puck moving and size over Fatty and Benn. Upgrade accomplished while changing negative perceptions on them.
- NuckUp

Gudbranson and Stecher are uogrades on size and puckmoving ability over those 2.

I explained this the other day: the only difference between a one-way and two-way contract is the amount they're paid if they get sent to the AHL.

In a one-way contract for 1.5 million, if that player is sent to the AHL they still make 1.5 million (much like Loui would be making his full amount down there).

A two-way contract would be something like 1.5 mil / 300,000, meaning if they play in the NHL they make 1.5 mil, and if they play in the AHL they make 300k.

That's it. So if JB wants to spend Aqua's money and give Tree a one way contract, that's fine. It doesn't mean he still can't be sent to Utica.

The "logic" is he's in no position to dictate to JB as things stand today. Benning is getting good at letting players walk. No loss, there will be other options. Tree's agent is also an a-hole.

Not sure if VHG means one way, or if he means he hasn't earned a 1 year deal, so the Canucks should sign him for 4 years.

Last time around JB asked him to go to Utica because he was a fat bastard. He declined. My point is he's earned sfa in the NHL.

Except any cap hit above 1.075M will still have whatever portion is above that count towards the cap so I'd say it does matter once you have a player making above that amount. If he makes 1.5M, then 425K will count towards the cap

We all know Tryamkin would probably bolt for the KHL if he gets sent down anyway so I guess that's a moot point in this case.

I don't follow this line of thinking.

He went back and developed his craft in the KHL, presumably is no longer fat...
He has indicated that he would be interested in returning to the NHL and Vancouver.
We need Dmen that aren't rookies and currently own his rights.

What's the problem?
How else does he 'earn' a return to the NHL?

Not sure if that's a given.
Different coach and team than before.
If he said he wanted to give it a shot in the NHL and that he's matured over the last several years, i'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
