I could have signed Hamhuis.
- Marwood

So you'd move Keenan up a notch or two?

Hamhuis says hi.

I think I agree, Nonis deserves the accolades that Gilles gets.

Best Canucks GMs.

1. Nonis
2. Benning
3. Gilles
4. Burke
5. Keenan

Fight me

Nonis wasnt very good at all. Even his good draft was only a month after Burke was let go. All the scouting that was done for that draft was while Burke was on the throne. Nonis even said so himself and said he just stayed the course. Sure he made the pics but he has to share the credit on that draft.

Nonis had this habit of signing non NHLers that were seldom known and claiming they are the best player in the world at their position not playing in the NHL. Santala for instance....what a fuktard.

Juolevi - Benn
Rafferty, Chatfield

The current depth. It'd be nice to have another nhl caliber guy to rotate into that group as I don't think Chatfield is an NHL Dman and Benn was real bad last year.

- NorthNuck

I am just not that high on Rafferty as I once was 3 years ago. I believe Brisebois is a better defenseman.

In that case they should sign 2 more Dmen

So true. Nonis got fired because the solution he presented to ownership for getting the Canucks back into the playoffs was the deal he had in place for free agent Fabian Brunnstrom.

Hard to argue that the top 4 wont be better. Think about it. Schmidt is a better Dman than Tanev. He's not injury prone like Tanev. Hughes very most likely improves.

The bottom pairing needs work without a doubt. They need to promote at least 1 d prospect I think. We'll suffer the growing pains but that comes with the territory.

Oh ya, the temper tantrum over missing the Brunstrom sweepstakes when he was let go. Another "best player in the world not in the NHL". Turned out to be another flop but for someone else thankfully.

The depth is weak unless someone surprises or another player is brought in

Rather just see them give these kids a try in the big leagues, wait for some contracts to expire, then go fishing for a couple defensemen if none of the kids pan out.

Sure, if it's okay to regress next season and allow the contracts to expire.

Should have changed the jersey to AZ Coyotes. By the time he's grown that beard, that's where he'll be playing.

He'll definitely bolt from the Leaf's first chance he gets.

Not sure it will be a regression. The team was a bubble team and will be again. I don't see many teams getting much better than what they were last season, some will be declining.
Also it will only be about a half season, so give some of these kids a taste and see what sticks.

You have to go back to 2017 and the last player selected to find a 1st round Russian forward selection who's done worse than Podkolzin in the KHL. Klim Kostin (F). 10th vrs 31st.

Its okay when Podz comes over with Tryamkin they'll be instant fan favorites. Two guys that will fill needs on present line up.

That's an improvement in puck moving and size over Fatty and Benn. Upgrade accomplished while changing negative perceptions on them.
