He's be a good fit on a team like the Rangers or Panthers and they'd probably give up a 4th or 5th for him.

He only has a year left on his deal and would be an upgrade to most teams bottom six. He'll be easy to move if they have to.

I dunno man guys like him are signing $1 million deals right now. Not sure there's much of a market for a $3 million smallish 3/4C

Erik Haula hasn't been able to find a home yet, remember.

Haula is probably looking for more than a one year deal and more than 3 million.

Ryan plays a strong defensive game and is putting up 30+ points from the bottom six. He's better than anyone the Rangers have in their bottom six.

As much as I like Ryan I'm with Bingo on this one.... I dont think this is an easy contract to move without taking money back.

I wonder if the writer even has a clue sometimes? First, the Flames were not signing him to light it up. They didn't think they found a diamond in the rough that was going to suddenly jump in the scoring race.

What they landed was a player that will play extra forward time, fill in on the 4th line at times, brings a physical side to the game, and is a solid penalty killer. His main role will be the PK. He was second on the Bruins last year for PK time by a forward. Also...only 9 other players in the entire league had a higher D-zone start percentage than him. Of over 400 face off starts he had just 64 that started in the offensive zone. So yes, he had more shots against per 60 min than other player...because he started almost every shift in the D-zone.

Worst case scenario, he eats popcorn in the press box, or has his cap hit buried completely in the AHL.

More important question...can we get someone that understands the Flames to actually write about the Flames? What a joke.

Hey Todd, Flames signed forward Dominik Simon. I know nothing about him except he had 23 points as a penguin in 64 games last year, and has only been in the penguins organization.

What say you about him?
