I have my expectations pretty low for him, I have to assume he is another depth player..who wont make much of an impact.

so I cant be disappointed

So it’s a pilot project in Alberta for those eligible to cross US border (truckers, essential workers, etc). They’re given the option of a test and 48 hour quarantine but need to test again within a week. Border stays closed. Doesn’t completely open things up for easy hockey travel

So in conclusion, Mikko Lehtonen = Shea Weber

If he doesn't win a cup then that doesn't bode well for the Leafs. It's the first step in their rebuild plan.

Please, at least one of the Kerfoot haters, answer this question!!!

Not sure why everyone sh1ts on Kerfoot. He's played well, can improve, hustles every shift...he had 3 pts - assists in 5 playoff games....ps, Marner had 4 pts - assists only too.

Kerfoot is not a problem on this roster...at all.

One more top 4 D and this roster is the most balanced I've seen in a loooong time.

- underhill14

The first problem is that he's seen as a 3C when he's not a particularly good centre. He has room to grow into it, but it was frustrating to watch his missed assignments and poor backchecking last year.

Kerfoot can skate. He passes better than average. His shot is probably a bit below average.

His problems are that he doesn't hit, in fact he seems to shy away from contact and doesn't get into dirty areas of the ice. We hear all sorts of things about Nylander not going into dirty areas, but he does when it's opportune. The difference between Nylander and Kerfoot is that they are both terrible at dealing with physical play, but Nylander knows when he can do it. Kerfoot seems to just not risk the engagement altogether.

If you're a centre, you need to be engaging along the boards - especially in your own zone if you're pursuit guy - but Kerfoot is not good at that. For the record if they put Nylander as the 3C this year, it'll be the exact same problem.

At the end of the day, the Leafs are a soft team, and Kerfoot is emblematic of that. He's a good player and perhaps with the moves this year, he won't be as visible as a soft player.
