what about some shared responsibility for the insurance companies that facilitated the ask (through covering the opioids), MDs prescribing the meds, and the end-users that were keen to get a quick pain relief? |

I gave you a comparable of a player that played 4 more games than Mikheyev and was awarded a 2 year deal in arbitration.
You are the one going around in circles grabbing at straws.
It’s okay to be wrong, unless you want to finally give me actual facts as to why Mikhyev should of gotten less.
You seem to be the minority in here right now. - Santo_44

We need to get out in front of the Dermott discussion.
What's the over/under on him? Under equals Dubas is the best. Over equals he's a pencil-necked nerd and got robbed again. - The Law
My wife tells me I’m wrong enough, don’t need a fuxktard in here doing it too.

Think we could steal Liane from the Jets?!?
Nylander, Dermott, 2nd
Liane
Would you do it? Liane isn’t the best defensively either... but, more upside offensively then Nylander IMO |

I think the simplest way of looking at it is this: Around December, we were pencilling Mikheyev in for a $2.5 - $3M contract. So, is this payday good to him? Probably not, because he was certainly proving that he was worth more. By that token, it's a great deal for the Leafs.
Then the injury hit, and he played 39 games which is not a significant enough sample size to warrant a fair judgement in arbitration either way. There's almost no data for an adjudicator to make an accurate or fair assessment based on what's there to evaluate.
So as a Leaf fan, we'd like to see more of a bargain based on the absence of data. Based on WHAT Mikheyev looked liked, and what his potential is, he's certainly worth more.
The argument from any discontented Leaf fan is simply going to be this: Dubas frequently sees the player's side, and tries to err with the player in terms of contract negotiation for what the team feels they can bear. There are other more shrewd or less player-friendly GMs who would by trying to take advantage of this situation for cap relief. - Monkeypunk
that's it right there IMO.

Wouldn’t the player friendly deal be a one year deal so Mikheyev can get what he is worth next year?
Like AJ? And any Arb deal that wants to get paid what he is worth?
I remember some saying on here yesterday a 2 year contract would tarnish Dubas reputation with Mikheyev since he’d be getting him below his value for 2 years instead of 1. - Santo_44
AJ bet on himself and well he's no longer a Leafs.
Well it was Mikheyev option to go to arbitration and the Leafs chose cap certainty in choosing 2 years. I would done the same thing.

are you an anti-vaxxer?
pharma companies actually do good things as well -- and in fact most people working at pharma are ok people. never understood the 'big pharma == devil' view.
problem with pharma companies these days is that most of them are run by CEOs that have no medical/health science background whatsoever -- and obviously shareholders have 0 interest in 'doing well', and just want to see big $$$ |

so we see the problem with trading willy for Laine then.
Willy is on a good deal we can squeeze in at the moment. Laine will make more

The company will plead guilty to three counts, including conspiracy to defraud the United States and violating federal anti-kickback laws, the officials said. The resolution will be detailed in a bankruptcy court filing in federal court.

Liane for 8mil x 8 years Dubas can wiggle around a bit
Imagine having Matthews and laine on the wings with Marner Setting up and Tavares in front of the net on our PP. that’s much scarier then Nylander for and extra mil |

Laine will get more than Nylander does. I think it's safe to say that. If Nylander keeps putting up 30+ goals a season, we got him on a great deal. |

I think he'll get more than that.. It'll go into his UFA years, so he'll look for closer to $10M.
Aside from his shot, is he really that much more valuable than Nylander is? |
