Damn rights VHG and we are proud of it...why you ask.

We have the lowest rates of COVID anywhere.
Mainlanders have too pay outrageous fees to come to paradise.
We aren’t delusional enough to believe in made up fallacies that Green can coach an NHL team with competence.

Perhaps carsonagenic can help confirm at some point, but I'm pretty sure Penticton is the choda of BC.

I never read or watched any news regarding JV asking for a trade.

Seems like fake news. Why would JV want out, he is part of the best hockey organization in the world, with the best gm ever wise only misstep has been not signing the best coach to a longer term deal. Have faith, it's all coming together nicely.

Pres approves this management group, especially with TL back channeling trades for top 4D. Things are looking great.

JV signing for less is the domino that can send a tsunami of shambles.

Now that is done what triggers are coming?

Will it be weeks or months before we see the next Canuck action on finalizing the roster and cap?

Green

Young players have improved every year under Green. Systems have improved, aggressive forecheck last year greatly improved offense.

Defensive play got better during the playoffs this year as well. I know some will point to their play against Vegas in particular but they recognized that they were getting crushed off the rush during the regular season and made adjustments.

He also decided to play Petey at C as a rookie despite him not playing the position for 2 seasons and everyone insisting it was a mistake.

He's not perfect but he's gotten better every year. You can say the same about Benning and even that fat (frank) Jake and that is what success looks like.

How many teams have fired Gallant since Green has been Head coach? 3?

I might be in Nanaimo but it still counts as the island!

Cool, good reply.

Personally my observations are the opposite, Virtanen played much better during the season under the mentor ship of Miller, but Green just wouldn’t give him any extra playing to build his confidence.

If they were both so in tune and complimentary to each other, why was it reported that Virtanen requested a trade during the playoffs? This was network television reporting this not the idiots like Dhaliwal or JD Burke.

- Makita

I didn’t hear anything about trade requests, that’s very interesting to me if true. I thought he had a good playoffs early and the disappeared and so rightfully got benched. Not unlike regular season where he was showing it and then seemed to lose his game a bit. Also started slow last season. Again, this is how i view it and don’t really see a guy who is being underutilized so much as inconsistent. Two sides of perspective there though.

In this, if nothing else, we agree. Islanders have been by and large responsible enough to keep the cases down and be sensible. Also happen to be mostly NDP and Green voters for the past many elections. Coincidence? I think not.

I think a lot of people thought Green would be outclassed in the playoffs and instead made it further than im fairly sure any poster on here predicted. I honestly think we’re still on the bubble next year but that was a pretty impressive first outing for this new group.

Last year he was 6th in even strength scoring among forwards with 27 of his 36 points coming at EV. That seems like a pretty great % to me. So I read that criticism as....he's not helping his line mates get 5on5 points but he's getting a lot of 5on5 points.....we all know that he gets bounced around the lineup like a Mike Tyson speed bag yet he still produces with little special unit TOI. Seems like a more reasonable solution would be to give him more consistent/better line mates for longer than 3 shifts a game once every 10 games.....
- Brooks_Light

Again, while stats are very important to ci co consider i also think the general sentiment is he’s not consistent. It’s literally what JB said straight up and actaully what JV said about himself too in that interview. I for one really think he can be that guy, which is what makes this a very good value contract.

One question to all: would he have got more from arbitration?

I can't believe it, every team is above the cap floor and none of those teams had to take on Louis contract, how is this so?
