More likely it’s yet another terrible, ill thought out move by the worst owner in pro sports.

I can’t even imagine being a Washington fan. They’ve done next to nothing in like 30 years. Last time they made the playoffs: 2007. Last time they won a playoff game: 2005. Last time they won the division: 1999. Last Super Bowl appearance: 1992.

You misunderstand my position. I don't want to sign Laine long term. I want him for this year only at the same price as we are paying Jake now. After that we can let him walk as a RFA and collect the draft picks, but we get out of Jake's contract and free up cap space which we will need to sign Hart, Sanheim and Laughton, and hopefully have cap space to sign a better free agent.

Your position is unfounded both in terms of reality and on a factual basis. If as a team you decide to let an RFA walk, which means not giving him a qualifying offer, that makes the player a UFA. There is no draft pick compensation. You lose him for nothing. Not to mention ultimately, there is no possible chance that Winnipeg would ever make that deal. People aren't misunderstanding your position. Your position is simply ridiculous.
