Josh Anderson in MTL -- too much term for injuries and a terrible year

- The_Big_Heen

Josh Anderson tore his labrum in game 1, and still tried to play through it for 24 games. I would just say scrap any stats he and don't count any of the games against him. He shouldn't have been playing. Saying "he only scored 5 points" is kind of stupid, since he shouldn't have even been in the games. Any player with that injury should immediately be on the IR.

You aren't wrong, but trading a consistently higher scorer for a guy who essentially goes 2 seasons without playing good hockey is a massive risk. Anderson was an absolute force prior to his injury. That big contract sure doesn't reduce the risk factors of this move. Can't judge it quite yet, but the risk of this being a big mistake still looms.

I think the Pietrangelo signing will go down as being very bad with the flat cap, his age, and the term/AAV but more importantly because they dumped Schmidt for a song to fit in AP and Schmidt was underlyingly very good for Vegas on a much cheaper deal and really fit their team.

They’re trying to win a Cup...Pietrangelo is like a billion times better than Schmidt!!!

I honestly think the Pietrangelo signing was a big concern. Schmidt was a top D, and you trade him for a 3rd rd pick, and give Statsny away for a 5th..... I am not sure their team is better today (tho they are still a contender), and Piet could very well be a buyout candidate for his final 3-4 years of this big contract. He's been a great player for a decade, and that amazing streak surely can't continue for another 7 seasons.

We will see. Schmidt was a very good D, and Statsny was their 2C for most of the season. Karlsson will need to bring consistency to his game if he wants to have the same impact at 2C. Piet is the best D of free agency, no doubts there, but they gave away some TOI leaders for a 3rd and a 5th rd selection. Paired with the possibility of buying out the last 2-3 years of Piet's deal, it was a massive risk. Might pay off. Might be a big regret.

Easy one....Taylor Hall...let me explain, what does signing him for 1 year accomplish for anyone here?...on Buffslos side I say nothing because they are not Cup contenders even with adding a great player like Hall...It may be a slightly better signing on Halls part maybe pairing with Eichel gives him the stats he needs to become trade deadline gold for a contender...unless Buffalo blows the roof off the place I still see see Taylor winding up with a Boston,St Louis or Colorado come playoff time

The issue is you are suppose to add to your team by bringing in AP. They went sideways. They also traded Stastny. I am not convinced they are any better. Lehner also has a seriously injury and won't be available to start. The also should have gotten far more for Schmidt than a 3rd rounder. Rather embarrassing.

I think Buffalo makes the playoffs. I also think teams like Boston and Blues are regressing.
