I'm just not understanding why the start date got pushed into January while the NBA is ahead of schedule.

Canada is much less of an issue with the NBA, makes the NHL situation more complex

yeah no way they would

it's gonna be 4 divisions, one of them being that Canadian division, and the 24 remaining american teams will be broken up into three 8 team divisions and they will only play each other in a 48 game season to limit travel

that's what I hear through the grapevine

I just want them to have a normal playoff, ends in June, draft July 1st and then 2021-22 everything back to normal

I know nobody cares about the NBA but the NHL usually tags along with what they do, so this is good news

Personally think this is way too soon and MLK Day made a lot more sense. Plus, no issues with travel to Canada, other than Toronto. Will be interesting to see how that’s resolved.

there's just no chance the Rangers will be doing anything else until they know exactly where they stand with Strome, how much his cap hit is or whether or not they'll just walk away from arbitration award

Unless the arb award is something ABSURD, I just don't see the Rangers walking away and losing Strome for nothing. There aren't many centers available this year so he will always have SOME value around the league.

I play the new NHL games as they come out once in a while when I go to my friends house because he always buys them.
