From the AP article about Bills/Jets,
“The Bills and Jets have been complete opposites when it comes to a crucial stat: third-down conversions. Buffalo leads the NFL in that category with a success rate of 56.2%, helping the Bills consistently sustain drives. The Jets, meanwhile, are last in the league with a 30.23% conversion rate on third downs.
Buffalo’s running game has topped 100 yards just twice this season, and hasn’t done so in three straight — the Bills’ longest drought since a four-game stretch from Sept. 21-Oct. 12, 2014.
The Bills also are tied for last in the NFL with just one rush of 20 or more yards all season: a 34-yard gain by T.J. Yeldon against Tennessee. Starting running back Devin Singletary is averaging only 3.8 yards per carry with 270 yards on 71 carries.”
I guess the Bills get themselves to 3rd and short pretty often. Interesting that converting third downs 5.5 times out of 10 leads the league.
They better get their running game going soon.

Good article about Sabres additions as they relate to improving the PK.
Sabres need a couple of effective steady-eddy type Dmen to further bolster the ranks.
Also, hopefully the newly added Vets can help the Coaches redesign the PK system based on their success over the years.

So glad you brought this up.
Most interesting part of the article for me is below.
The Sabres kept trotting out Girgensons despite his lack of success. His goals allowed per 60 minutes ranked 194th of 220 forwards. It wasn’t an anomaly. He’s at 8.7 per 60 minutes for his career. He’s been above 9.3 in five of his seven seasons.
The Sabres rewarded him with a three-year contract extension and a 37.5 percent raise.

It's funny, I was going go copy/paste that as well. It is confusing, that and keeping Risto when they claim to integrate Advanced Analytics into their player and prospect evaluation...especially with respect to retaing those they have chosen to.

Lots of Ka-boo-hoo-huning in the comments. 😀
If he was actually a really good nhl player, he would be signed. That's how it works. ☝️
Guy plays 6 games in buffalo and girgs almost 500 games. So much for loyalty. |

Your homerism is coming g through in spades there Bossman.
Did you read the article to see why that comment was made?
If so, can you then explain to me why they re-signed this guy for supposedly his defensive acumen...
His PK stats are among the worst in the league... but go on. |

So Mike Hoffman isn’t a really good NHL player? That’s some faulty ass logic. Kahun is still a versatile top 9 player. Doesn’t hurt defensively. Chips in enough offense. Should still go after him, but obviously I’m fine with Hall and Girgs if that’s the trade off |

Jets game is dangerous. Jets are getting back darnold, mims and their LT while buffalo has no Knox, Brown, a makeshift oline, and underperforming Dline and starting cornerbacks called you from the practice squad (if tre can’t go). This is a game buffalo HAS to win but won’t if they’re looking ahead to NE. Josh is going to have to be first 4 games MVP josh |

Yup and add in the bills have sucked on both sides of the ball the last couple weeks.
Josh Allen wise. The remaining games this year .... we will see if the first 4 games were an anomaly or the real josh Allen

Eehhh. Go get raatna then. Or bishop. Or the other Az goalie. I’m not overly concerned if Ullmark feelings are hurt. Hopefully they get a deal done... |

We can replace Ullmark. He’s not worth what he’s asking for

We certainly can. But we should just replace Hutton.
Getting Ullmark for 2.5-2.75 for the next 2 years as a backup until UPL is potentially ready is best case scenario |

Ullmark is difficult to figure out. His normal 5 on 5 stats are borderline excellent but his dangerous area shots and PK shot statistics are very bad. Basically he’s way above average on saves he should make but if it’s a dangerous shot, he’s typically not coming up with the great save. |
