Casey Nelson has signed a one-year, $700,000 contract with the Buffalo Sabres.
Nelson earned four goals and 12 points in 48 games with Rochester of the AHL last season. He led the team with a plus-18 rating. Nelson has four goals and 18 points in 93 career NHL appearances with the Sabres.

Still like to see them sign either a Kahun or a Granlund to give them more flexibility and make that top 9 even more solid.

As Girgenson was smart at jumping at Buffalo's "more than fair" offer, Kahun looks like he overplayed his hand. there's a better chance Kahun will have to play at the veteran minimum of $700,000 than getting anywhere close to the $1.4 (or so) that Buffalo offered him. Kahun's agent failed him terribly
