So no distinction between a 1 yr, RFA deal and a 6, or 7 year with 4 or 5 years of UFA calculated.
Got it.
Great deal for Sabres.
Don't understand the Agent's counsel to Sam for a 1 year deal...high probability he would have received more ... but if he's good with the 5.2 that's all that matters. - IonSabres
Agents counsel to sam - take as much as you can get, you are riding shotgun with jack. Your points are fluffed.
Where do you get this high probability? In your own brain, yes. You had certain parameters for a sam deal. It falls short and the agent talked him into less ...
..
Cant take his contract at face value. Hes a 52 point guy without eichel. Maybe less

Which is also irrelevant. "Some" people not learning a lesson doesn't lead to the logical conclusion that we must then perpetually condemn everyone who makes mistakes. This seems obvious, and yet...here we are. - SoCalPucks

Great, you wait to post and defend some loser scumbag.
Irrelevant to what? That he can shoot a hockey puck?
Its completely relevant, character issues affect your team
This discussion is stupid. Dudes a (frank)ing loser and so are his defenders.
Let me guess, its cancel culture that you really hate? - Boss34

I've assumed he was signed to be 7. He'll be 33 and hasn't played full time in a long time. - Lunaion
Could be 6/7th defenseman in irwin?
Minimum wage / waivers guy.
I'm not as impressed with pilut as many around here.
Do you see pilut as a regular in buffalo?

While I think that's true, I don't think it matters very much in an arb case. I don't see how he'd get less than 5.4m in a decision. If they did make a walk away threat, that would have some serious weight. Horrendous timing to hit UFA.

Welcome him into your family. Open arms.
Maybe become a billet family for him? So cal is Not far from the Arizona area. Leave him home with your daughter. He deserves a 2nd chance.

Never really bought into the hype on him. Played well for a stretch early on, then struggled to adjust. We've seen that countless times. Not a guy I view as a lock. He's probably a decent 3LD, they grow on trees. |

We need a goalie.
And to shuffle around the deck chairs on defence. 1RHD out and one LHD in.
That should put us in the 90-95 point range |

Agree. It’s kind of amazing -
Going to to offseason what we’re the three biggest needs, 4 biggest even
1. Goalie
2. 2C
3. Remove log jam at RD
4. 2LD
They’ve done ONE of these things and it’s a 36 year old on a 1 year deal. And people wanna pretend this offseason has been good? Not to mention the awful Girgensons deal and passing on Rossi? The management sucks once again. Whether it’s Pegula or the assistant to the regional harbor center manager |

I heard they made a walk away threat. For sure.
Makes sense.
His nhl value is a sliver of the hockeybuzz love.
Imagine hitting ufa and sitting there without a job.
That's why signed for "less". Arbitration could have been 7 million or more right?
They would have just signed ka-boo-hoo-hun for 2 million at 35 points (without eichel)
They are Similar players. The sammers are also ka-boo-hoo-hunners.

If the league realigns as expected, Sabres gonna be in a tough division:
B's
Caps
Flyboys
Isles
Pens
Rags
Devils |

Make him sweat it out this entire draft and go undrafted this year and then get drafted in the 5th or 6th next year, maybe 7th. He gets drafted, gets his 2nd chance and all you bully loving/special needs loving beating hockey players get to see him develop with an NHL team.

I appreciate the reasonable conversation on your end and apologize for any bad attitude on my end.
I think he shouldnt have been drafted at all.
I'm all for 2nd chances, but this is a glaring sociopathic mental issue. Not a mistake. 2nd chances are for mistakes. 1 time type things that happen without thought or YEARS of abuse. no apology to the family or child affected by his behavior. Sorry is a good start to a 2nd chance, you know remorse, understanding and regret.
Bullying and racism are front and center right now.
Theres Good on both sides and Bebest.
Maybe when rae caruth gets out if jail, the Buffalo Bill's sign him? Carolina connection and all. John browns hurt. 5 -2. Record. Why not?

So emotional and dumb. So should all the teams get together and decide on the dl that he should be punished in this manner? How do they decide who gets to draft him and when to achieve your notion of "justice". |

I understand.
Getting Hall was pretty big though.
Taylor Hall and Jack Eichel May be able to put score the defensive issues this team may have next year.
Staal and Cozens/Reinhart should rejuvenate Skinner.
We do need a goalie though no doubt. |
