They seem pretty set on this team as of now, we have to many D men but that may or may not be addressed. Risto fits better here then Montour. - SABRES 89
I suppose. I know they love him unconditionally. I think you get him the right partner and you're on your way. Shed Montour or Miller for an LD that has a transition game. Hanifin or Valimaki.
Kinda tough seeing Montour on the block after a fresh 1 year deal, though. And we know Ralph doesn't like Miller.
Just trying to read the leaves.

Well let's be real, most of us can assess Reinhart honestly, and some are mad they didn't get an autograph.

I agree, it was a great deal for both sides given the circumstances. It's hard to argue that.
Oloffson is not getting 4.5+, especially after the Bertuzzi award so I believe they are in the same situation with him. The arb award can't be 2 years and at the very least he goes to arb gets a 3-3.5M deal for a year and we have his RFA rights next year. - Bufsaints8
Did they change the rules, why can't it be 2yrs, thought the team could pick 1 or 2 yrs. Anyway I was told they are close, thought it would happen yesterday but a 2yr 3.25mill avv, but maybe after the Bertruzzi decision something changed. |

I value Miller more then Montour IMO. I wouldn't mind Hanifin and I don't think the Flames would want to move Valimaki from what I read about him but that was last year. |

You can keep denying and looking the other way, but when those lizards figure out how to get down here, yall are gonna be sorry.
That being said, the Reptilian Overlords like Reinhart and think signing him to a 1 year deal was a mistake, especially if he gets to play with Eichel and Hall. He's going to make a pretty penny after cashing in on that point total. - RhinoFan

I was in the locker room when the Sabres were here 2 years ago, was talking with a few guys and started to talk with Jake McCabe and he walked away. No problem, some guys just don't want to talk at times, not a big deal. ROR had a big group around him and I couldn't talk with him but E Kane talked with me for a couple minutes but his parents were there and I didn't want to keep him talking. |

An earlier post stated that the only way Arb awards a 2 year deal is if it is more than 4.5/yr. The team can choose one year but either way the player is a UFA after the Arb deal. |

ESPN's Dan Graziano reports the Bengals have been discussing trading Carlos Dunlap with "several teams."
The Bengals are holding Dunlap out of practice as they sort out his future. The expectation is that he'll be traded this week. Dunlap was the Bengals' best pass rusher last year, but he has one sack and 18 tackles in the first seven games and lost his starting role to Amani Bledsoe. The two-time Pro Bowler is unlikely to return more than a Day 3 pick. |

The cowboys are rumored to have Poe on the trading block too. I’d take a swing at him. The middle of that d line needs help to free up the LBs! Losing Phillips and star with the other Phillips coming off that season end injury has just killed the d line. Go get poe. |

I don't know why people need to take offense against people who don't feel like chatting. You don't want to talk, you don't want to talk. Why's a federal case need to be made?
But regarding your post above, do you mean Reinhart walked away or Jake? For all of Kane's faults, he seems personable.

Montour took his qualifying offer because it would’ve gotten ugly for him in an arbitration hearing after the season he had. |

McCabe walked and it's fine, I don't expect players to talk it was really no problem for me. |

The Cowboys have told DT Dontari Poe and CB Daryl Worley they’ll be released if they can’t be traded this week.
Poe hasn't done much this season, posting seven tackles on a 53% snap rate. He hasn't looked the same since tearing his quad late last year. Poe is signed through 2021, but Dallas can save $3.2 million from trading him. The Cowboys are also expected to move on from Worley after benching him in Week 7. |

You’ll get Poe. He did play for Carolina, so it’s a virtual lock. |

The team can absolutely choose 2 years for Olofsson as he just turned 25 this past July 18th, which means he has 2 years left before he is a UFA. |

That is not what the post said. The Sabres could not elect anything other than a 1 year term for Ullmark because he just turned 27 on July 31st, which means he is a UFA next year, and as said below, teams cannot delay UFA status.
See below:
CBA stuff, must jump in....
When the player files for arb, the team elects the term (but they can't delay UFA, so Ullmark couldn't be 2 years).
If the award is over 4.5m and change on a 1 year deal, the team can walk away, making the player a UFA
If the award is over 4.5m on a 2 year deal, the team can walk away (essentially from the 2nd year), making it a 1 year deal and making the player a UFA after the 1 year.
There's no reason for the Sabres to ask for 2 years on Sam. |
