[quote=jdfitz77]U compared Girgs to Briere dude

Girgs soon to be ufa , signed by buffalo prior to ufa
Briere left as a ufa, signed by Philadelphia

I was comparing the situation, not the players

Similar to washing20dudes comment about the table.

I think the reference was in regards to bidens comments last night at the debate. look at the empty spots at your table caused by covid.

The fact you have to explain it to him is why I stood him up! He’s been trying to meet up for years, stalker much?

lucic (5.25@3), bennett (2.55@1), hannifin (4.95@4)

montour (3.85@1), casey (RFA), okposo (6@3)

Pilut would be an interesting add for them... I initially thought Okoposo had 1 more year vs. lucic. That evens it up a little...

It’s a shake up, but I think Okoposo will be retired or LTIR in under 3 years...

I still do it just to add Bennett’s grit and an ok LD that’ll make jack happy.

Dahlin. Miller.
Hannifin. Risto.
McCabe. Joker.

I don’t think that’s awful?!?

- Gr8daygo

Seems like a fair trade on paper.

I think calgary prides themselves on the hard nose approach last season, letting 2 hard nosed players go might not be their agenda.

Just bennett for either Casey or montour?
Probably Sabres need to add

I’m still missing the tie in here dude

Why Briere & Girgs comparison, as opposed to any of the other UFA signings or guys that walked as UFAs??

Was their a further point being made?

- jdfitz77

Everyone complains about losing players via unrestricted free agency. Briere and drury for example

Skinner and girgs are the only recent guys that come to mind, in regards to foregoing ufa status, to stay. They committed to buffalo and the Sabres.

* Hope this was ok to discuss? Is there a list of approved discussion topics?

Sabres signed Casey Nelson yesterday RHD, Flames signed Nikita Nesterov today LHD.

Dominos ?

Flames now have Giordano, Hanifin, Valimaki, Kylington, Nesterov

Sabres have 8 RHD.

Could there be a trade coming with one of Risto/Montour/Miller going to Calgary with Hanifin coming back with other pieces involved ?

No sources, just pure speculation and playing off the smoke with Calgary in the past.

I could see the Sabres making ever attempt to bring in eichels friends and keep him happy and in buffalo.
(Hanifin and john hockey)

As ridiculous as this sounds, He's that good. Eichels that important to this franchise.

If it falls apart , you trade eichel and his friends ☝️

I'm probably in the minority, but I pay olloffson 2/3 Sam's salary. (If possible) and get at least 80% production
Olo 4
Sam 6

Olo 4.5
Sam 7.0

For example

How far I'm I off on these guesses flacco?
2/3 seem reasonable? 80% production?

I would take Rittich over Hutton, Hutton has been bad for the most part for us. A couple hot starts and that's about it.

Norman out for Sunday, and White is Questionable. Wow could have a 7th rnd pick and a UDFA starting a CB for us Sunday.

I’ve been completely transparent with everything I’ve done in the markets.

My money has been tucked away into commodities since May.

Even with the consolidation in precious metals from late July till now I’m still up 30%. And no, I haven’t sold even though it’s been going down the past two months because I’m in it for the long term. Instead of trying to time the market, I just hold on for the ride.

But I’m not here to talk about me, and I doubt anyone cares about my investments.

I’m here to have intellectual conversations about the Buffalo Sabres and shoot the breeze of the conversations stirs in the direction of the markets or whatever topic is at hand.

But hey Hatboro, create as many Alt accounts as you want and bring absolutely nothing to these threads.

If we could perma ban yourself, Fitz, Beady/Alex/3rd accounts the charm/4th ban may be the charm Hockey Buzz would be a much better place.

Make Hockeybuzz Great Again.

- Pegullaville

I may be in the minority on this, but Beady doesn't bother me that much. He's an overt troll who doesn't take himself all that seriously and can occasionally be entertaining whereas Fitz is just an angry little man who takes every single little, infinitesimal (frank)ing thing as a personal affront(that means insult, Fitz) to which he must respond with max vitriol, and is just exhausting. Hatboro/Washedup mainly just does drive-bys.

Just noticed that Lindy has brought Chris Taylor onto the Devils staff as an assistant. He might not have developed the kids as well as someone wanted but he didn’t make the roster.

I’m going to say if that’s the deal the flames have already signed and waiting for Adams.

I don't think that deal makes the Sabres better, and I may actually think it makes us worse.

Olofsson was on pace for 30 goals last year, and Montour is capable of putting up the numbers Hanifin puts up.

Why trade olloffson? He's going to agree to a reasonable contract. Maybe 4 or 5 years? Gives a 7th round pick some long term stability.

Recognize home grown talent and sign them before they explode

Exactly.

None of those players listed in that proposal are worth Olofsson, anyway.
