Hasn't been a trade since October 12th. Canucks, Blues, Leafs, Capitals, VGK, maybe WPG depending on Little's future, MTL, Oilers, maybe Flames, Islanders and Lightning will need to make trades in the coming weeks.

Feels like they are playing a really dangerous game avoiding any commitment, except where absolutely necessary (Girgensons).
- Lunaion

What’s the danger? They signed the previous core and depth to shorter deals with the idea that if they fitz the season again it’s an easy reset.

TBH this has been the most logically approached offseason in awhile.

They should look to restructure the D and Should address goaltending. Would be nice to grab a 1A/B to play with Ullmark, Hutton is blind and keeps driving to the ice rink in east aurora.

Two more months of what ifs followed by a let down in scheduling with another month of hoping to even start.

A shortened season should help the Sabres, this roster has yet to show any ability to endure a full season.

My money is on Girgs going to Seattle

But would you BET on it, TROLL?!

Would anyone be opposed to adding Corey Perry for 7-8 hundo after Olofsson is signed? Maybe Colin Wilson for 8-9 hundo? Some nice multi positional depth there.

The Jets had 4 yards in the second half. It's the least amount of yards they've had in a half of game in 40 years.

it all sounds good to me. I've never been worried about dollars, more about term. short term deals allow for flexibility and options. sign everyone to one or two year deals outside of your core core players.... (eichel, dahlin up next) forever and I won't complain. hated the okposo deal, realllly hate the skinner deal for example.
- TheHank

Couldn’t agree more.

Term is the killer

They’re literally just walking important players right to UFA or massive contracts to keep them.

We have 0 value deals, contracts where guys will be viewed as underpaid down the road.

I don’t believe anyone is important from ownership down until this organization can build and sustain a winning culture.

With that mindset every player is a risk, who other than Skinner and Okposo are in long term high risk deals? Every player that signs in Buffalo is taking a risk on an organization that continuously fails, same goes for players who have been here long term.

Miller or Montour maybe but they’ll want players who can ply now to build a starting roster.

Good post.
Hopefully they can acquire a decent Goalie..going to need 2 capable Goalies for a compressed schedule this season.

Trades involving our Dmen; Risto, Montour and Miller might be tough as many teams are likely in a money in/money out situation and several will be in a money out only scenario.
Will be interesting.
