Wait til the players see the mini bar prices at Harborcenter. $18 for bottled water. Italian marble in the yacht bathrooms is back in!
- jcragcrumple

Wait, I thought it was 18ct Gold?
This is very concerning...we need to do something.

It will be fantastic for the localized economy. Outside of that, the league will simply split the revenues to all the teams within the bubble. I can't imagine PSE would gain some kind of upper hand here.
- TheSabresTaco

Wouldnt the nhl be using the harbor center and pegula hotel's? The local downtown economy that's gonna profit the most, would be the pegulas. They may split revenue , but aren't comping hotel rooms..

Did Arizona know about this before picking him? Or did anyone know before the draft?

Unless it was public info or if word got around things like that may not pop up if coaches said he played great and was a leader but didn't want to tell the otherside because it could harm the kids chance of playing and hurt his teams chances of recruiting if that comes out

If it was juvy they may not have the info because they could say it's confidential and won't release juvy court details

Now that the coyotes know let's see if they do anything

Shouldn't have happened and he deserves punishment

*Didn't read full article so not sure if this was known prior

This is all good and could be 100% true, not arguing that one bit.
How ironic is it though that the team that cheated by testing and evaluating draft prospects were bit in the ass by...
A draft prospect.
Karma!

I hope out works out for them, I do.

I also wonder if going to locations like Sunrise, Tampa, Dallas, Arizona ... warmer weather cities would be far more attractive if the plan is for teams to rotate in and out of the hubs on say a 2 week basis. Would allow them to enjoy the healthier outdoors during time outside games and practices, thereby reducing the risk of infections.

Will be interesting to watch.

It was known. He sent a letter to all the teams. Coyotes took the chance because they didn't have any 1st or 2nd rounders and wanted the highest rated talent on the board, even if it involves that guy slamming a disabled kid's head against the wall and calling him a...

The predictions that players would take shorter deals of 1 - 2 years of deflated AAV has come true.

Given the likelihood of abysmal attendance figures for the upcoming season, many teams are going to be hurting financially and may want to manage costs down for the 21-22 season again while attendance and revenues hopefully ramp back up.

If the 21-22 season can't get back to near normal attendance and therefore revenues, we likely see some major changes...cancelled or reduced seasons, teams collapsing, etc.
How could, for example, the Sabres absorb 2 seasons with very low revenues resulting in huge losses. I know the Pegula's are very wealthy, but I just have a hard time believing them and many others "pushing through".

- IonSabres

This is good ion.

I'm pretty sure the next season will not be played indoors in ny state. There will be 0 ticket revenue downtown.

It's great that the pegula's are billionaires, but they are still business people. Big losses. 716 , labatt house, harbor center. Big unexpected money, including season ticket $ . October is probably when they collect some $, paying Bill's in the offseason with less revenue.

You really should have read the full article.

He was convicted in juvenile court, sentenced to 25 hours of community service and ordered to write an apology through the court system to Meyer-Crothers, participate in counseling and pay court costs.

Prior to the draft, he sent a letter to all 31 teams acknowledging what he did, and apologizing for his behavior.

(Two sentences above paraphased from the article).

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I'd like to think that a 14 year old gets a second chance, even if he is a douchebag.

Where are you fellas getting this idea of hub cities?

From everything I've read, the NHL and NHLPA have been pretty clear that they have no interest in doing them again for the 2021 regular season.

Think it would be a quick no from the players association as many players have families (wife and young kids) where they wouldn't leave them for such a long period.

Playoffs are different but no way could they do a season even if it's a 48 game season. Even the knights GM or owner said this much

48 games.

Unless testing gets waaaaay better, 4 divisions (including 1 all-Canadian) and you only play teams within your division.

Kick the playoff can down the road 2 months - figure it out as the situation develops.

I sincerely doubt the AHL has a season, so I'm guessing each team will get a small taxi squad that doesn't count against the cap.

Funny thing: some the teams in the most traditional "non-hockey markets" are probably the ones with the greatest chance of having fans allowed at games.

Indoor games in NY with fans? Next season?

Not sure if that's gonna happen? Hope so.

My wording was incredibly weak in post above.

Should have written "non-traditional hockey markets."

I'm not sure what the heck "traditional non-hockey markets" are.

Like I said earlier, I would like to give the Coyotes the benefit of the doubt in that they did their homework. Automatically resorting to Cancel Culture, especially for a 14 year-old, can also set just as bad of a precedent.

It was in an article on The Athletic in which Daly stated it is one of 9 or more ideas...nothing even remotely close to being determined which options may come to the top of the list.

Idea was that the league re-aligns into 4 divisions; one Canadian, and each division has a hub city.
Teams rotate into the hub for a week or two play 4 or so games a week, then go home for a week.
American teams would rotate into each if the 3 hub cities...Canadian teams play themselves in the Canadian hub.
Again, just an idea. Buffalo was mentioned as a possible hub given multiple rinks, multiple dressing rooms and enough hotels in close proximity.

The concept of a locked down hub is not the one described as one of the ideas floated.
Your thought about a locked down hub is correct. The hub city would be more relaxed with teams rotating in and out if a week or two as a time...then go home for a bit...not licked away for 2 months.

I idea is to save travel expenses and control the environment better than 31 teams flying to 30 cities.

As was mentioned...it is way to early as discussions haven't even started on which ideas to consider.

Bingo! Another reason ... Tampa for Buffalo would be cool...lots, and lots of Western New Yorkers here in the area including Bradenton / Sarasota

I think it was Stripes that posted a link from The Toronto Sun that major Canadian airports have a plan to phase in rapid testing in place of mandatory quarantine for International travelers. Hopefully, that comes to fruition.
