Yeah I agree there.

So we need two trades.... whatever this flames deal is and a trade with Az. I think we have the pieces to pull both off...

I am curious what the flames deal will be. Hannifin for LD? Bennett for truculence? Even though we are fairly full up at forward right now. I’m not sure one of the flames big 3 makes sense but what do I know. Lol

- Gr8daygo

Tough to say?
Bennett did have a nice playoffs,
but that’s the most he’s shown in his career
I suppose either would be ok for the right price

Maybe they walk from olloffson?

Almighty WET1

Why did Sam take less $ than arbitration would have certainly handed him?

Is there legit any way his contact is that large they walk? Won’t it be 1 year?
- Lilroot9

I heard the Sabres mentioned, basically be careful if it goes to arbitration. You might not have a job. I'm paraphrasing.

I interpreted that as ullmark, sam or olloffson.

Someone pointed out that the minimum ( team walkway price) was a contract over 4.8ish? Which eliminated ullmark.

Day or 2 later sam signs for 1 year at 5.2 , which seems like less than he would have received in arbitration?

WET1 can't fit Sam's entire body down his throat, and he's acting like the Sabres would never let him walk.

There's definitely a price value for every player. 7+ for sam with all the available free agents? Trades available for expensive talents. Laine for example. Covid offseason prices.

8 for hall is a prime example.

Reinhart is the only one who potentially could get a deal they would be allowed to walk away from according to the CBA...unless, of course, the arbitrator walked into the hearing drunk.

Do u think Sam was scared about becoming a
free agent though?
Most players would be ok with that
And Sam would have many suitors

Could have sam been awarded a 2 year deal? Could the Sabres walk from 2 years?

Saying he’s not “elite” YET is FAR from b!tching
And i never said “it’s all on Allen”
DID I ???
Nope, i sure didn’t.

But you’ll continue to put words in my mouth to fit your narrative.
I’ve also routinely stated we can’t run the ball,
AND criticized our sh!tty defense as well...
But all u focus on is my comments which essentially say Allen isn’t elite yet
Well guess what...
1- he’s not
2- idgaf what u think or say

Why don’t u just ignore my posts?

Don’t worry, I’m sure u can still spend hours talking sh!t about me with Beady all night

So hypothetically they award sam 2 @ 7.5 = 15 million?

I love the 1 year 5.2 million deal. That's his stand alone value. 3 million more than girgensons. Who would have thought?

CBA stuff, must jump in....

When the player files for arb, the team elects the term (but they can't delay UFA, so Ullmark couldn't be 2 years).

If the award is over 4.5m and change on a 1 year deal, the team can walk away, making the player a UFA

If the award is over 4.5m on a 2 year deal, the team can walk away (essentially from the 2nd year), making it a 1 year deal and making the player a UFA after the 1 year.

There's no reason for the Sabres to ask for 2 years on Sam.
