Another early Stones appearance - on the TAMI (Teen Age Music International) Show, also from 1964.
How nice to see them - young and simplistic, without the distractions of the large stadium shows. Just the World’s Greatest Rock-N-Roll band.

And, from the sane show, James Brown.
He came on just before the Stones and stole the show.

At the moment it is looking like 10yrs lol. You may be right about an FA or 2 if we have the cap. I'm all for supplementing the young guys when they're ready. I just don't see how this thing is gonna work by keeping 88 and 19. Definitely not 2 and 7. We'll forever be grateful for all four but keeping them stunts moving on. Can't wait to see some moves and how it shakes out. I'm not going anywhere but unless something drastic happens this could be a LONG rebuild - ctbullets
At least we both realize it's not 2-3 like most here will expect and are already counting three years ago as the start...

Didn't the Cubs sign players to 1 year contracts like the Hawks did and flip them for a ton of prospects since you can't trade draft picks - BetweenTheDots
The only guy they traded big was Smardzja the rest were one year hope we get lucky moves which they did on I think Feldman for Arrieta. Ryan Dempster brought them Hendricks but everyone thought they lost that trade at the time. |

Kind of like many here still think the Hawks lost the Hammer for Murphy trade. |

RIP Jerry Jeff Walker

Beat me to it. I grew up with my mom listening to WJJD (old country) on the radio in the kitchen. Of course I was a rocker from the 60's, but when I started going to school and work full time I couldn't take the rock music all the time, but I couldn't take the hillbilly stuff either. New Riders, Byrds, Heartsfield, Marshall Tucker, Commander Cody were all great bands, but I visited a buddy at the University of Texas in the mid 70's and Jerry Jeff was like the leader of a more hybrid country music. I was hooked and have been since then. He used to hang around with a guy and do gigs all over the place. Most people know the story about Mr Bojangles being written in a drunk tank in New Orleans, but he and this other guy eventually wound up in Key West. All you Parrotheads out there should be thankful because the other guy was Jimmy Buffet. Musically, Jerry Jeff Walker changed my life. I saw him play in person about a dozen times in both Illinois and Texas. Yesterday I was bummed out all day after hearing about his death. RIP JJW. |

Some of your “freedoms” negatively affect mine.
Your freedom not to wear masks, not to socially distance, not to gather in large crowds, not to jam bars without masks....
If everyone would wear masks, distance, not have large gatherings in parties or bars - we wouldn’t be back to normal by now - but we might be able to live without many of the restrictions that exist.
Just be responsible and respect all of our freedoms.
And stop calling those who disagree with you morons who should move to China. We are all US or Canadians here (with the odd European thrown in). We have as much freedom to express out ideas as you do.
And if you don’t like that.... - StLBravesFan
The same could always be said about the flu for your whole life - you not wearing a mask during the flu season while at a bar, work or a Hawks game put the lives of others at risk. The world accepted the risk, along with countless other risks associated with what used to be normal human activities, such as going to a Hawks game.
The IFR for this dread disease is 99.9+%, according to the CDC (aka, the scientists). |

And when the infection rate and mortality rate of this virus get down to the rates of the flu - thru vaccines and therapeutics - I will consider the risk to be acceptable too. My readings say that that’s what we can expect - it will not be eradicated, it will not go away - we may continue to need periodic / annual revaccinations.
We are not there yet.

Well i don't see a point in eating a contract if you still have productive players. The same players who have SCs under their belts. Who are valuable mentors for the young kids coming in
I feel when you buy out a contract its like refinancing your home you are limiting your ability to use future money
And if you trade away Seabrook you'll probably have to retain half his salary and probably draft picks or crap coming back.
So you bite the bullet and start building. - BetweenTheDots
Definitely not eating 19 or 88 but trading them when they have high value still is something we have to consider. Maybe retain some salary to acquire young productive players and some high picks for them. That's IF they agree to move. Look guys I don't like trading away our core players either but I don't see how else we're acquiring top talent. Drafting 1st rounders of our own is gonna take many years to see the fruit. Agree there's hope strome and nylander can develop into core players but it's a stretch. I'm trying to be optimistic but realistic at the same time. |

Fair enough, the way i look at it, i am trying to build something, when you're trying to build something, bake something, grow something, you can't skip any steps. You have to be methodical, usually it takes dmen longer to develop and they began drafting them in 2017 check, now they have a ton of young forwards check, drafted a goalie, check and I'm sure we'll see more come and go through the team.
I don't know if you remember what happened to the Chicago Bulls, but that was Jerry Krause's idea, trade any relevant playoff player away and tank. Problem became other players noticed and any relevant FAs never signed here for years.
So i keep the vets and really who's going to command big money from the young players right now, if you hit on a few stars then you can make some moves but for now no need to

You raise some good points. I agree with the concept of obtaining prospects that are farther along in development than draft picks who if they make it, are 3-4 years away.
I don't think the core will waive so there's no asset return from them. deHaan may get you a 3rd or 4th or a B prospect. I wouldn't be too optimistic on the return for Murphy. After all the consensus on this board was that at one time or another Gus, Lehner and Saad would return 1st rounders, but the GM'S around the league who are paid to evaluate talent thought otherwise. Who's left to trade Wallmark and Janmark? Maybe a 3rd rounder or two who have less than a 10% chance of making a NHL contribution, and if they do it's 4 years away.
Stan wants to weaponize cap space, probably more so next year when he has more space to play with. Hard to say what that concept will return.
Longs like a long rebuild to me unless 2, 19 and 88 waive. Seabs will cost assets to move which is the last thing the Hawks could afford to do

My favorite all time band. My brother-in-law was actually at one of their last concerts.
I will say that over the last several years, I've listened to a lot of Alice In Chains. They are moving up my list pretty fast, despite the fact that I'm not a big grunge fan. |

Some people (not necessarily implying anyone here) still seem unable to grasp the concept that the mask is not intended to prevent the wearer from contracting the virus, but rather to prevent a Covid+ person from unknowingly spreading the virus to others.
Not wearing a mask makes a statement, but it’s not the statement most deniers think. It doesn’t say “I’m not concerned about contracting the virus”, it says “I don’t give a (frank) about you or anyone else”. - Ogilthorpe2
Exactly, which is why the Drs wear masks, to protect their patients. I'm pretty much over wearing masks, but I wear one everywhere I go anyway. If I'm asymptomatic and pass it on to an 80 year old who ends up dying, I'd have a hard time forgiving myself. I do think governors overstepped their roles, and think that much of their responses were politically motivated, but I'll still do whatever I can to help stop the spread. |

Thank you for pointing out the obvious. The mask is as effective against this and any other virous as me installing a chain llnk fence to keep mosquetos out of the back yard
Look at the mask that is required to be worn when removing asbestos compared to these cloth masks knowing that the size of asbestos is multiple times larger than any virous
We have a pandemic where the mortality rate cin america compared to other years on a monthly basis is lower now. The good news is covic has cured cancer, heart attacks and most common causes of death since hospitals are only paid by the government to identify cause of death as covid related
