I've been hearing that it could be in jeopardy. Nothing is for sure during this pandemic.

That would suck, it'd be nice to get to see Pod playing in NA

Thanks Carol. The UFA signing of Hawryluk sure looks like a plan to replace Sutter on buyout.

A Sutter buyout also gains time to work another Nate type opportunity. Either during training camp or into the new season when teams need to finalize rosters. Canucks could then LTIR Ferland. But if there is an AHL season then they can also pressure LE out.

Those 2 moves will clear enough space to bring in a top F and/or D man.

Hope it's not drugs or alcohol.
- VanHockeyGuy

I know, I also hope that it's drugs and alcohol, not one or the other, that's weak sauce.

Other items discussed:
- draft lottery. Time for a change?
- Seattle update. All is good there. Expansion team remains on target with everything.
- there was a discussion of maybe bringing back a 2-3 UFA speaking period (NHLPA has a say in that)

LE to the minors only saves around 350k in cap with a minimum contract taking his place.
It would also cost more real money as there is no escrow for them in the AHL. LE. Would actually make 25 percent more money in the minors. I wouldn't want to reward him like that.

Better to retain 50 percent and send him away with a 4th.
I wonder how appealing Sutter would be at 50 percent retained? If we could actually get a draft pick for him?

To fix one of Benning's stupid deals you mean?

I know it's been said many times, but I totally agree, we need to stop accumulating dead cap space and ride some of these shit contracts out.

What? His torn muscles and broken body are the crippled foundation that the entire bottom 6 is built upon. Have some respect.

I love a good old fashion tank, planned or unplanned, tanking gets you access to the best players in the world, we didn’t get Elias Pettersson because we won the Stanley Cup, we got him because we finished second last.

We should have a decent chance this season with the AHL D we have on the team!

Which AHL players made the team? I seem to have missed the Canucks camp and preseason....
