According to the Twitters, Lake Louise has been ruled out as a starting point for the 2021 season.
Too bad - it would have been franking spectacular.
Props to the NHL for even considering it. Apparently the site itself had problems, and they are looking for something similarly dramatic.

You take that 82.5M, and you have Robertson at $822k and Sandin at $894k. That $1.7m sent down leaves them with $700k in space.
If you figure they run around a 5 month schedule (January 1 - June 1 as an example), it would still take almost 6 weeks to accrue enough cap space that they could recall Engvall.
At this point we don't know anything looks like - including taxi squads, minor leagues, and so on, but I would assume that if the season is shortened and salaries end up being prorated, the cap would as well, so I don't think it would change anything in terms of the math. |
