I feels to me that the coach for Ska wants to see more than just hustle out there. Scratches are a clear message in any league. "You have to do more". - boonerbuck
Can’t crack KHL roster = ready to play for a playoff NHL team. Ok. I think some folks don’t realize just how sh!tty the KHL is - CanuckDon
I just don’t get why people feel the need to make excuses for some kid who will likely play in the NHL, but in a supporting rather than staring role. He could be a DeBrincat, but he will more likely be a Skille.

Doubt he crashes like Skille, but I guess we'll all find out when he comes to North America next year
So you are saying the GM is telling the coach to do this? Because any coach will play who he thinks will give them best shot at a win otherwise. What kind of coach or GM would choose punishing a 19 year old over the best chance at winning? Over a business decision that has no effect on the current season. I don't buy it. Not at all.
You said "likely a coach issue" about this post in the last thread. - boonerbuck
Yes, the coach plays players who are more committed to SKA. KHL commonly reward players that extend and give less leeway to players that don’t. He’ll be fine when he joins the Canucks.

No excuses should be made but on the flip side interesting to see how many are underestimating how good this kid will be on the smaller ice. He is a bull dog and an excellent passer - I think he will be perfect beside Petey and JT

Strange comps but I agree with your point, it's odd to debate whether a 19 year old Russia will be successful here based on what he's done so far.
There a pretty wide range of comparables from Panarin with 8 pts in 20 games during his 18 yr old season to Tolvanen with 36 pts in 42 games to Dano with 7 pts in 37 games.
