I watched him in Kelowna quite a bit. He was usually the best player by far. One of those guys that gets fired up and has an FU attitude. I think he will crack the line up at some point. He has the drive / will to get better. - canucksfan1944
Fair enough, I only saw him live the 1 time and he wasn't very noticeable. Tried to mix it up after getting pinched along the boards a couple times but couldn't get anyone to bite.
it's funny because the list posted of which players to protect was my list (that NFU copied and pasted from a previous blog discussion).
I chose to protect Motte as he was the next best forward on our team.
Just my opinion.
try to keep up... - dbot
Hey smartypants I reposted it not NFU! (who hasn't posted anything while I have been here so its funny you refer to him) I did so to remind them it was from this thread not another blog and wasn't saying it was mine either. So why you feel so jilted that others fail to read Carol's blog or what's being said on this thread.
By the way I would protect ZacMac over the Lind/Motte choices if Canucks don't bring in another top F that needs expansion protection.

Try to catch up. Motte or Lind, one goes. - VanHockeyGuy
Motte is not a prospect, either he's exposed or we pickup another player and expose them both. Motte is what he is, Lind is still improving every year.

Funny that you and NFU are never seen at the same time, you should log into that account and post so that people believe your narrative.

I don't disagree with any of this.
The OP was who would you protect today for the expansion draft, i chose Motte as the 7th fwd. I think his skill set is valuable and he'd be a savvy pick for the Seattle Karens (if left unprotected).
If we have different players on the roster next year, or Lind impresses, my picks might change.

I thought the expansion draft was next offseason? Have I lost a year to Corona?
What if the Canucks pair OJ with Myers. Ideally JB trades/OS for Cernak but that would take a Ferland/LE solution that is season pending.
So in the meantime how about a depth move sending a B prospect forward/D combo the other way for one of the following tweening D below. Have them mentored in a pair up with Edler.
Ilya Lyubushkin
RHD, 26, 6’2”, 201lb, Arizona --- no coach love press boxed too often for vets
one year $1M
Noah Juulsen
RHD, 23, 6’2”, 174lb, Montreal ------ local boy who Habs could lose on waivers
One year @ $700K

Or we can try our prospects instead of adding unwanted scraps from bottom feeding teams. Just a thought

We only have Rafferty and Chatfield for RSD which are below the 2 mentioned so why not make the trade using expendables? Plus the D on those teams were not bottom feeding those teams just had trouble scoring with lack of top level talent. This would be a trade for depth which is a needed role now on RSD.
