Ideally Virt would be 3rd line
Miller - EP - Podz/JV
Hoglander - Bo - Boeser
Hoglander has very good play making ability and good two way play. He would slot there better than Bo IMO - Retinalz
Woah woah, careful there, might get your feet held to the fire suggesting those guys are going to be playing in the top 6, let alone BOTH of them.
I'd actually think Podkolzin and Bo would be a better mesh, if they both play that strong north south game creating more room for Hoglander. |

Hyperbole much? If none of those things had happened do you think this off season would have gone any differently? - 1970vintage
Sounds like you had a hell of a trip. Sorry we couldn’t squeeze you in for a tour. Next year. Hopefully. |

In the flat cap era where now raises to BB 7+M min qualifying; Demko, Petey, QH big money raises; they need those ELC's to bridge the talent gap up top.
Hogs may be chemistry wise Sven 2.0 to Bo and Podz the new Pearson. It won't all happen next season but that's where its headed. |

What if both of them aren’t good enough to play in the NHL and contribute? Then what? Play them anyways? |

Better then Chaput and Megna... remember those options lol. As the bottom 6 bloated contracts go off the books they are getting replaced by Zacmac and Motte types. But the inflation of salary from the top players coming up offsets the savings. Leaving the need for ELC players to fit into top roles. |

What if both of them come over and absolutely crush it, and then need huge contracts we can't fit under our cap? Then what? Trade them for scraps?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see |

What’s the most probable scenario given what we know and what the odds are? For every Brock Boeser who comes in and forces his way into the the top six, on a poor team, there’s 200 second round picks who don’t ever play in the league let alone the bottom six.
Podkolzin has more upside because of his size and north south skating, I’m no expert but from what I’ve seen he needs a lot of work to be an NHL player.
Anyone putting either of these two in the top six is quite frankly a homer, heck I hope they turn into HHOF’ers....but I seriously doubt it. |

Are you the anti-Homer...? Congrats you get fan of the grass is always greener award from the anti-realist society of hockey armchair gods. But hey don't let the reality of the new NHL economics of talent gap ELC's throw you off. |

Good post. These kids are trying for one of 20 jobs. Not just against organizational prospects, but a league full of the best players in the world. Let them make it past the fringe first. |

You play teams within your division 4 times per season. You have to weight how much of an impact that one player going to have on the outcome of those 4 games. Maybe a couple of goals/points but is it enough to not be worth having them in the lineup for the other 78 games? It's a simple no bcus clearly we're seeing interdivisional trades more and more.
Ferraro talked about this last year and straight up said - GMs just don't see this as a big enough factor/deterrent to not trade from/to within. - Brooks_Light
Well the Vegas owner said it was because the Canucks are now playing in a Canadian division |

Oh well that must be the sole reason.
Forget what I said and every interdivisonal trade that was made prior to this "All Canadian Division" announcement that happened.....when exactly? |

I just stated what the Vegas owner said when asked why he made the trade 🤷♂️What are you on about |
